The 2006 U-12 M.V.P., selected by the U-12 coaches, was Katie Krogmann, Enfield (right). The other nominated players were Katie Jones (Granby), Samantha Guzzi (Suffield), Alyssa Valenti (Tolland), Sara Carpenter (Vernon), Ali Stevens (West Hartford 1), Caroline Karanian (West Hartford 2) and Maggie Kryznel (Willington).
The 2006 U-14 East Division M.V.P., chosen by the U-14 East Division coaches, was Kelly Gentilcore, Manchester (left). The other nominees honored by their teammates were Emily Armstrong (South Windsor), Amanda Granville (Somers), Lindsay LaChance (Coventry), Jamie Vallarelli (Vernon), Ashleigh Williams (Ellington) and Alicia Wojcik (Hebron).

Congratulations to the other West Division nominees - Jenna Allen (West Hartford I), Natalie Kyparidis (Enfield), Amanda Longley (Glastonbury), Jessie Schroeder (Canton) and Nina Varney (Windsor).

The other North Division nominees were Elizabeth Breen (Suffield Rebels), Kim Collins (Enfield), Kathleen Conway (Simsbury), Courtney McGuire (Granby), Kacey Oswell (Somers) and Ginger Starvish (East Windsor).

Week 1 (ending 7/2)
North Division: Kim Collins, Enfield -Pitched Enfield to a 10-0 win over the Suffield Rebels, allowing one hit and striking out 12, and a 3-2 win at Granby, striking out seven.
South Division: Alicia Lambert, West Hartford (upper right) -Pitched a one-hit 11-1 win over Tolland, recording 14 strikeouts.
Week 2 (ending 7/9)
North Division: Sam Cieri, Suffield Pink (lower right) -Went a combined 6 for 7 with four singles, a double, a triple and 5 RBIs in wins over Enfield and East Windsor.
South Division: Jenn Lattal, Windsor -Struck out 14 in the 3-2 loss to Enfield and then pitched a complete game 2-hitter with nine strikeouts in 3-1 win at West Hartford.
Week 3 (ending 7/16)
North Division: Kim Collins, Enfield -Recorded 25 strikeouts in pitching Enfield to wins over East Windsor and Somers.
South Division: Alyssa Wolejko, South Windsor -Allowed only four hits and struck out 21 in pitching South Windsor past the Suffield Rebels and Windsor.
Week 4 (ending 7/23)
North Division: Chelsie Merone, Somers -Helped Somers win two games for the week with six hits and two walks, including two triples, driving in the tieing run and scoring the winning run against Granby. She also played exceptional defense.
South Division: Marianne Specker, South Windsor -Helped South Windsor win two games for the week, going 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored against East Hartford and hitting two doubles and playing good defense in the win versus Vernon.
Week 5 (ending 7/30)
North Division: Whitney MacKay, Suffield Pink -Went 3-4 with a single, two doubles, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored in the win over Tolland.
Kacey Oswell, Somers (right) -Allowed only two baserunners (a walk and a hit) and struck out ten and also led the offense in the win over Tolland.
South Division: Dana Carpenter, Vernon -Led Vernon to three wins for the week, pitching two complete games and in relief in the other, also led the team's offense.
Week 6 (ending 8/6)
North Division: Angie Moskwa, Suffield Pink -Pitched Pink to a 1-0 win over Somers, allowing only three hits and striking out seven.
South Division: Alicia Lambert, West Hartford -Guided West Hartford to a 3-0 week, pitching a 1-0 one-hitter against Manchester, striking out ten and a 2-0 win over South Windsor.
- U-14
Week 1 (ending 7/2)
East Division: Kelly Gentilcore, Manchester (right) -Combined to pitch a shutout against Hebron and tripled and scored two runs in the 7-1 win over Somers.
West Division: Courtney Cannella, Enfield -Helped guide Enfield to a 3-0 week by going 4 for 4 in the 14-1 win over Glastonbury and recorded 9 Ks in 5 innings and had two hits in a 9-6 decision against Granby.
Week 2 (ending 7/9)
East Division: Jill Eitelman, Vernon -Pitched four strong innings with 4 strikeouts in 17-4 win over Somers and went 3 for 3, including a double, at the plate.
West Division: Angie Moskwa, Suffield -Went 5 for 5 at the plate in win over Canton to help Suffield remain undefeated.
Week 3 (ending 7/16)
East Division: Emily Hummel, Hebron -Pitched a no-hitter against Somers.
West Division: Jessie Schroeder and Fran Klimczak, Canton -Led Canton to wins over West Hartford II and Granby.
Week 4 (ending 7/23)
East Division: Erin Selavka, Vernon (right) -Was the pitching star for Vernon in wins over Somers and Hebron (twice).
West Division: Katie Kelleher, Granby -Pitched well in the three victories Granby recorded over West Hartford II, Glastonbury and Suffield.
Week 5 (ending 7/30)
East Division: Kelly Falkowski, Vernon -Had key hits in Vernon's wins over Coventry, Manchester and Ellington.
West Division: Laura Mainelli, West Hartford I -Pitched well in both one run West Hartford I games, the 8-7 loss to Windsor and the 5-4 win against Glastonbury.
Week 6 (ending 8/6)
East Division: Morgan McPartland, Ellington (right) -Pitched a 6-0, 13 strikeout gem against Coventry.
West Division: Natalie Kyparidis, Enfield -Homered in both of Enfield's wins over Windsor and West Hartford I.

Week 1 (ending 6/25)
Cari Conley, Enfield (upper right) -Had a single, double and triple in Enfield's 10-9 win over Willington and then went 2 for 3 with a triple in the 11-4 win against Tolland.
Week 2 (ending 7/2)
Maggie Kryznel, Willington (mid right) -Led Willington to a 2-0 week, striking out seven in the 15-5 win over Tolland and hitting a double, single and scoring three runs in the 16-4 win versus Suffield.
Week 3 (ending 7/9)
Courtney Daley, West Hartford2 Devils (lower right) -Pitched three innings (5Ks) and went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two stolen bases in a 7-7 tie with West Hartford1. She also had two putouts at home plate.
Week 4 (ending 7/16)
Maggie Kryznel, Willington -Led Willington to wins over West Hartford1, West Hartford2 and Enfield with both her pitching and batting skills.
Week 5 (ending 7/23)
Alyssa MacDonald, Vernon -Led Vernon to wins over Granby and West Hartford1.
Week 6 (ending 7/27)
Ali Stevens, West Hartford1 -Helped the Thunder to wins over Suffield, with five runs scored, and Tolland, where she had four hits.

Our 2006 summer season featured 44 players participating in their final year of ASA U-16 eligibility. The league directors and coaches would like to recognize those players and their families and express their gratitude for making the Northern Connecticut Girls' Softball League the biggest and best in the state. This league would not exist without your loyal support and enthusiastic participation.
