- Saturday, September 9th
Glastonbury 8, Coventry 6. Jackie Barnicle and Christine Dalton were solid offensively and defensively while starting pitcher Katie Uricchio and reliever Hayley Hoge pitched a great game and were able to hold off a strong Coventry team.
South Windsor 8, Ellington 0. South Windsor came out strong in their opening game of the fall season. After a scoreless first inning, the bats woke up with a single by Stephanie Rahm and a double by Emily Armstrong, both scoring in the second inning. Allyson Fournier pitched no-hit ball in a 5-inning, time shortened game. Ellington showed a good batter's eye by putting runners on base throughout the game, with Courtney Carver (2 walks), Liz Miller (HBP) and Marin Cleary (walk). The offensive threats were shut down by stellar fielding plays by Michelle Scanlon and Ashley Tremonte. The bats continued for South with a double by Tori Thomson in the 3rd and later hits by Jenna Borrmann, Sara Fulton and Katie Holik.
Manchester 12, Vernon 8. In their fall season opener, Manchester defeated a scrappy Vernon team 12-8 behind the pitching of Allie Vitkus and Trixie Umali. They were led on offense by Michelle Graboski (3 hits, 2 stolen bases) and Kiara Shaikh (2 hits, 2 runs). Vernon was led by the offense of Brianna Levick (2 hits, 4 runs) and Kelly Robichaud and the defense of Ashley Barselau.
Canton 5, Coventry 3. Frannie Klimczak pitched a solid six innings for Canton with 2Ks, 5BBs, and 4 assists to first base while yielding only two hits. She also scored a run, as did Elise Minichiello (2 singles), Deanna DeSanti, Jessie Schroeder and Melissa Parente. Monique Gauthier, Sarah Benedetti and Parente each had an RBI. Nine bases were stolen by Minichiello (3), DeSanti (1), Schroeder (2), Benedetti (2) and Nicole Batan (1). Mo Gauthier made a great throw from centerfield to first base to get the leadoff batter out in the top of the 5th inning. This was followed by a 4-run 5th inning by Canton. Schroeder and Olivia Bonini did a great job behind the plate with Schroeder throwing a girl out at second base to end Coventry's 5th inning.
Manchester 9, Granby 3. Manchester rode the 1-hit pitching of Kelly Gentilcore to a 9-3 victory over Granby. Leading the offense was Michelle Graboski (2 hits, 2 stolen bases) and Ariel Diaz (2 doubles, 2 runs scored).
For Granby, Hanna Lindeyer, Bethany Grupp and Katelyn Sayles all crossed the plate.
Vernon 23, Simsbury 2. In a game shortened by the time limit, Vernon beat Simsbury. Erin Selavka pitched four strong innings, striking out one and giving up just two hits. Hilary Moody did a fine job at the plate, going 3-4 and scoring twice. Brianna Levick, Ashley Barselau and Kelly Robichaud had a solid defensive game. Kelsey LaBranch had a hit, stole a base and scored for Simsbury, while Sean Glenn added a hit and two impressive putouts from behind the plate.
South Windsor 6, West Hartford 6 (tie). South Windsor came back to tie West Hartford in the bottom of the 6th inning. Sue Orsini scored the tieing run and her bat contributed two hits and two RBIs. West Hartford played well, with Courtney Daley not allowing an earned run in her fall league pitching debut. Sami Sutay had an RBI-single for South Windsor in the 2nd inning. Emily Armstrong held on to pitch a complete game and struck out the side in the 6th inning, enabling South to come back. Kelsey Larson had two hits for West Hartford, as did Carrie Corrigan, including a long double to left center in the 5th inning that capped a 5-run West Hartford rally.
Ellington 5, Windsor 2. Windsor scored two in the first inning, then came to a halt as the Ellington defense and Morgan McPartland (8Ks) settled down to an efficient execution of play. Ellington scored five runs across the rest of the game for the win. Windsor's Lauren Mercik tossed a complete game to Emma Dulz and Jess Coffey provided outstanding play in the field. Taylor Brown, Kelly McPartland, Courtney Carver and Alyssa Deland provided the Ellington offense.
Glastonbury 11, Tolland 1. Tolland's Alyssa Valenti was the starting pitcher and scored their run, while Aubrey Brink played solid defense at third base. Catcher Kim Tanguay made several nice stops behind the plate. Glastonbury's starting pitcher Nicole Deskus and reliever Amanda Longley were outstanding throughout the game. Catcher Sarah McFarlane threw out two baserunners and narrowly missed throwing out two others. Amanda Bogue made several defensive gems at first base.
Granby 3, Canton 2. Katie Kelleher singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 6th inning as Granby edged Canton 3-2. Monique Gauthier pitched a complete game for Canton, striking out 13, walking seven and allowing only three hits. She also had a single, double, a stolen base and scored one of Canton's runs. Sarah Benedetti, Fran Klimczak and Nicole Batan also had hits for Canton.
Simsbury 9, West Hartford 4. Simsbury defeated West Hartford in a game of evenly matched teams. Simsbury catcher Sean Glenn powered the team to victory with two hits, including a booming triple to the gap in right centerfield. Simsbury's defense was led by pitcher Allie Garry, who struck out five and walked only three. West Hartford's offense was led by a two-hit performance by Dani Stevens and a double by Jordan Greenberg.
Tolland 5, Windsor 2. Mindy Sharon pitched five no-hit innings and struck out 14 for Tolland in a 5-2 win versus Windsor. Devin Feeney had a double and an RBI and Briana Penney had a hit and an RBI for Tolland. Kelly O'Brien pitched four solid innings for Windsor, striking out three. Alyssa Moskitis and Katie Dulz scored Windsor's runs.
- Saturday, September 16th
Manchester 12, Tolland 0. Manchester shutout Tolland behind the 1-hit, 7-strikeout pitching of Kelly Gentilcore, the solis defense of Taylor Sisson and the offense of Allie Vitkus and Trixie Umali. Tolland was led by the pitching of Jessica Olson and the outstanding defense of Kim Tanguay and Sam Olson.
Simsbury 2, Coventry 1. Simsbury defeated Coventry in a very close game, 2-1, behind the 4 inning, no-hit (6K, 2BB) performance of pitcher Jessie Rocha. Field conditions did not allow the game to start on time and both teams agreed to a shortened 60-minute game. The sloppy conditions did not hamper either team as they both were sharp in the field. Coventry took advantage of a Simsbury error in the 1st inning to get a runner on base and finally scoring on a ground out. Simsbury took the lead in the 4th inning when Kelsey LaBranche scored after driving in their first run with a triple.
Vernon 7, West Hartford 2 Vernon defeated West Hartford 7-2. Sarah Carpenter (4K), Ashley Barselau (1K) and Erin Selavka (8K) combined to pitch a 3-hit victory. Kristen Messier reached base being hit by a pitch, two walks and scored two runs. Ashley Barselau and Hilary Moody both chipped in with hits. Valerie Beyer struck out six and gave up 3 hits for West Hartford and Chelsie Velez doubled.
Ellington 7, West Hartford 4. Ellington came out scoring five runs in the first three innings. West Hartford scored two in the 2nd inning, but stranded runners in the next two innings for a 5-2 game. Ellington got two more in the top of the 5th. West Hartford came right back with a monster triple by Valerie Beyer, but ran out of outs for a 7-4 Ellington win. Ellington's Emily Fillion, Ashleigh Williams and Morgan McPartland scored two runs each. West Hartford's Kelsey Larsen had two hits and Zoe Mendal made two nice catches in centerfield.
Canton 15, Tolland 2. Canton downed Tolland 15-2 as Fran Klimczak pitched all three innings, striking out four. Catcher Jessie Schroeder doubled, stole three bases and scored two runs. Sarah Benedetti had a single, double, 4 stolen bases and 3 RBIs. Adrianne Kunkel added a double and 2 RBIs. Alyssa Valenti pitched well for Tolland, striking out two.
Manchester 11, Coventry 2. In a well played game, Manchester remained undefeated by outscoring Coventry 11-2. Trixie Umali pitched a 1-hitter and was backed by the bats of Chrissie Wakefield, Sarah Bonino and Gabe Dube (4 RBIs). Coventry was led by the solid defense of centerfielder Amy Dillon, and offensively by the baserunning of Ann Green and Brittany Pietro.
Vernon 9, South Windsor 2. Sarah Carpenter gave up 3 hits and Erin Selavka gave up 2 hits to combine for the victory. Vernon offensive standouts were Jamie Vallarelli, Erin Selavka and Kelly Robichaud. Courtney Lyons made an outstanding catch in left field off a smash by Susan Orsini. Bri Levick made an outstanding diving catch in foul territory. Allyson Fournier gave up 5 hits, struck out six and chipped in with 2 hits at the plate for South Windsor. Michelle Scanlon, Chelsea Toce and Susan Orsini all had base hits.
Granby 3, Simsbury 1. Granby beat Simsbury 3-1 in a well played game. Chrissy Cooper and Bethany Grupp combined for a 2-hitter. Hanna Lindeyer had a big hit in the 4th inning, driving in the insurance run. Alie Garry had 11 strikeouts for Simsbury. Tessa DiGennaro and Shannon Zibovich each singled in the 5th to lead a Simsbury comeback.
Ellington 5, Glastonbury 4. Ellington scored two to start the game, only to see Glastonbury score four in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-2 lead. The game settled into a pitching match between Amanda Longley (7Ks) and Morgan McPartland (5Ks), with Ellington scratching out a run in the 4th. Ellington scored two in the 5th inning on a patient atbat by Kailyn Lundeberg and the heads up play of Courtney Carver to finish with a steal of home for the eventual winning run. Glastonbury's Katie Uricchio was 2 for 2 with a double and Hayley Hoge played solid defense at second base.
South Windsor 15, Granby 0. Emily Armstrong pitched a perfect 5-inning game, striking out eleven. South's bats came alive in their second game of the day. Anna Cerra (2 hits, 2 runs scored) started the game with a leadoff hit and later scored on one of two doubles by Sue Orsini. Rachel Leonardo had a bases-clearing double in the 4th inning and Aubrey Mazur had a 2-run single in the 5th. Granby played hard and was led by Nadine Foster, Stacy Brunelle and Katelyn Sayles.
Windsor 3, Canton 2. Lauren Backhaus pitched the win for Windsor, striking out eight Canton batters. Monique Gauthier pitched all 7 innings for Canton, with 12 strikeouts and a putout at first base. Nicole Batan made a nice catch in centerfield and then threw to Fran Klimczak to double a runner off second base to end the 1st inning. Cameron Sheldon and Melissa Parente each had an RBI for Canton.
- Saturday, September 23rd
South Windsor 9, Coventry 5. South's offense came out strong in the first inning. Six hits, including doubles by Allyson Fournier and Chelsea Toce, led to six runs. Coventry played excellant defense with a catch in left field by Ali Hosey and a double play by Brittney Pietro. South Windsor's Anna Cerra played excellant defense at first base, saving two runs. Aubrie Mazur pitched three strong innings to hold the lead. Steph Rahm lined a triple to centerfield to cap the scoring in the fifth inning. Coventry's Alexa Burrows played strong defense at shortstop to limit the scoring.
Simsbury 7, Granby 6. In a very tight 5-inning game, Simsbury edged Granby 7-6 behind Alie Garry's 10-strikeout pitching. Leading the Simsbury offense was catcher Sean Glenn, with a triple and a run scored, and Alex Girard with a double and an RBI. Granby's Bethany Grupp and Chrissy Cooper held Simsbury to just three hits.
Granby 2, Simsbury 1. In an even closer game, Granby got by Simsbury 2-1 in 6 innings behind the dominating pitching of Nadine Foster, who held Simsbury to just two hits (both by Sean Glenn) and struck out fifteen. Simsbury's Jessie Rocha struck out eight Granby batters and allowed only one hit in the game.
- Saturday, September 30th
Manchester 7, Ellington 5. A shorthanded Manchester team scored three runs in the last inning to defeat a fine Ellington team. Manchester's offense was led by Kelly Gentilcore (2 hits, 3 RBIs) and Allie Vitkus (2 doubles, 3 RBIs) and the baserunning of Gabe Dube (3 runs scored) and Taylor Sisson (2 runs scored). Their defense was led by the stellar play of Chrissy Wakefield, Trixie Umali and Sarah Bonino. Ellington was led by Morgan McPartland, who pitched a fine game, and offensively by Taylor Brown (double, RBI) and Kelly McPartland, with a key single and stolen base.
Vernon 6, Tolland 5. Vernon posted 4 runs in the first inning for a 6-5 gut-check with Tolland. Courtney Lyons and Elissa Graf catches in the outfield extinguished Tolland's rally in the middle innings. But in the 4th inning, Alyssa Valenti reached base on a walk, stole second and third, then scored to tie the game at five runs apiece. Sarah Gallichant had a double and an RBI while Mindy Sharon recorded 13 strikeouts for Tolland. Emily Jablonecki added a double for Vernon and the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth inning. Vernon's Sara Carpenter posted five strikeouts with Elissa Graf catching the final out for the win.
South Windsor 15, Windsor 0. Emily Armstrong pitched a complete game, giving up two singles and striking out seven. South got their offense started in the 2nd inning by scoring five runs with Anna Cerra's bases-clearing double being the key hit. Windsor, playing shorthanded to start, played tough with Kelly O'Brien, Lauren Mercik and Alyssa Moskitis leading the way. South Windsor's offense was aided by Sami Sutay (2 hits), Jenna Borrmann (double) and Emily Armstrong (double). Erin O'Brien made a fine catch in right field to double up the runner at first to end the game.
Manchester 7, Canton 7 (tie). Canton and a shorthanded Manchester team played to a 7-7 draw. Allie Vitkus pitched all six innings for Manchester, striking out five. Sara Bonino scored 3 runs and Kelly Gentilcore & Taylor Sisson, Manchester's lone outfielder, had key hits. Trixie Umali singled and stole home. Monique Gauthier (double, 2 RBIs) pitched the last two innings for Canton, striking out four and getting an assist by throwing out the lead runner at home in the 5th inning. Elise Minichiello (triple, 3 RBIs), Deanna DeSanti (double, run), Sarah Sapia (single, run) and Sarah Benedetti (single, RBI) led the Canton hitters. Nicole Batan made an extraordinary shoestring catch in centerfield in the first inning.
Ellington 10, Granby 2. Ellington and Granby traded 2-run first innings to start the game. Ellington scored in the next two innings and held Granby scoreless to take a 5-2 lead. Ellington was then held scoreless until exploding for 5 runs in the final inning to finish the game with a 10-2 win. Nadine Foster, who had a hit, pitched a complete game with batterymate Chloe Sayles for Granby, striking out eight. Ellington's Morgan McPartland also pitched a complete game, recording nine strikeouts. She was supported by the offense of Taylor Brown, Kerry Sawamura, Liz Miller and Ashleigh Williams.
West Hartford 15, Tolland 4. Despite struggling with her control early in the game, Courtney Daley settled down and pitched a no-hitter for West Hartford. Alison Stevens led the comeback with two hits. Carrie Corrigan also had a hit and scored twice. Marisa Taddei reached base three times and scored each time. Zoe Mendal kept the no-hitter intact with a running catch in centerfield. Alexis D'Aloisio and Alyssa Valenti both pitched well for Tolland and Mindy Sharon did a great job behind the plate.
Vernon 12, Coventry 4. Vernon distributed runs in all but the second inning to outscore Coventry 12-4. Caitlin Rauchle provided solid defense for Coventry and Maria Vromans added timely hitting. Sara Carpenter recorded three strikeouts and issued three walks for Vernon. Elissa Graf recorded three putouts while starting at second base and equaled that when moved over to shortstop. Kelly Falkowski, Kristen Messier and Kelly Robichaud provided solid consistent defense in the winning effort.
Canton 4, Simsbury 0. Canton downed Simsbury 4-0. Nicole Batan led the offense with two hits, an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Monique Gauthier (single, RBI) pitched the first two innings, striking out five. Rose Minichiello pitched the last three innings, with one strikeout, an assist and a putout. Olivia Bonini and Adrianne Kunkel both did a great job behind the plate. Sarah Benedetti had a single, RBI and run scored and Sarah Sapia and Christina Caldwell also had singles. Jessie Rocha pitched all four innings for Simsbury, striking out four.
South Windsor 9, Glastonbury 8. After two innings, South was leading 7-1 with big hits by Steph Rahm, Emily Armstrong and Michelle Scanlon. Aubrie Mazur pitched well for three innings. Glastonbury never let up and started a rally in the third inning by scoring two runs and loading the bases with two outs. A sharp liner was snared by South's Michelle Scanlon to end the threat. Michelle Nogas (3 RBIs), Sara McFarlane (defense) and Hayley Hoge (relief pitcher) played exceptionally well for Glastonbury. Going into the final frame, Glastonbury was down 9-3, but started a furious comeback. They scored five runs, but South was able to throw out the tieing runner, trying to stretch a hit, at third base.
Canton 8, Glastonbury 3. (from 9/23) Monique Gauthier (single, run, 3 stolen bases) notched another win, striking out five, as Canton downed Glastonbury 8-3. Deanna DeSanti, making her catching debut, went the distance behind the plate and did a great job. She also led the Canton offense with a single, double, RBI, run and three stolen bases. Frances Klimczak (single, run, stolen base), Olivia Bonini (double, RBI, run, stolen base), Elanna Sanger (single, RBI, run) and Elise Minichiello (2 runs, 4 stolen bases) had good games offensively for Canton. Amanda Longley pitched all four innings for Glastonbury, striking out six. Katie Uricchio and Christine Dalton each scored a run.
- Saturday, October 7th
Coventry 5, Tolland 4. Alexa Burrows' squeeze bunt scored Anna Greene in the last inning to give Coventry a 5-4 win over Tolland.
Manchester 4, South Windsor 4 (tie). Manchester rallied for three runs in the last inning to earn a tie with South Windsor. Manchester was led by Trixie Umali throwing a 2-hitter and striking out seven. Ariel Diaz, Michelle Grabowski and Gabe Dube (triple) supplied the offense. South Windsor was led by the fine pitching of Emily Armstrong (9 strikeouts, 2 assists) and the powerful bats of Sue Orsini and Chelsea Toce.
Canton 13, West Hartford 5. Monique Gauthier (4IP,8Ks) pitched Canton past West Hartford, with relief help from Rose Minichiello. Melissa Parente (2 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs & 4 stolen bases), Christina Cardwell (2 hits, 2 runs, RBI & 3 stolen bases), Elise Miniciello (2 runs, RBI, 6 steals) and Deanna DeSanti (double, run, 2 steals) powered the Canton offense. Lily Hannigan went the distance for West Hartford, striking out five. Carrie Corrigan stole three bases and scored two runs.
Ellington 9, Coventry 4. Morgan McPartland (11Ks) fanned the first seven batters as Ellington jumped out to a 9-0 lead after three innings. She and Emily Fillion, Kelly McPartland, Ashleigh Williams and Kailyn Lundeberg all had hits. Coventry's Brittany Fowler, Stephanie Morin and Josie Lorrico provided the offense. Catcher Lorrico threw out a runner at second as well.
South Windsor 10, Canton 6. South scored four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to break open a 6-6 tie. Four consecutive hits by Sue Orsini (2 runs), Tori Thomson (2 runs), Chelsea Toce and Ashley Tremonte carried the offense. Emily Armstrong pitched no-hit, no-walk ball over 4 innings in relief. Canton's aggressive baserunning led to four quick scores in the first inning, powered by Melissa Parente's double. Rose Minichiello pitched well, Elise Minichiello played well and Frannie Klimczak played good defense at shortstop for Canton.
Granby 7, Tolland 0. Granby beat Tolland 7-0 behind the pitching of Bethany Grupp, who struck out eight, walked two and gave up just one hit over 4 innings. Chrissy Cooper pitched the final inning for Granby. Brooke Call led the Granby offense, reaching base and scoring twice. Hanna Lindeyer had a big double in the 4th inning to drive in two runs. Alex D'Aloisio pitched well for Tolland and Alyssa Valenti and Jessica Olson played solid defense.
Glastonbury 8, West Hartford 6. With two outs in the first inning, Glastonbury erupted for five runs. Amanda Longley (3 for 3) and Nicole Deskus (2 for 2) kept the inning alive with clutch hits. Longley also pitched the Heat to victory with seven strikeouts over 5 innings. Sarah Hokanson also scored a run for Glastonbury. West Hartford was led by the pitching of Laura Mainelli and Courtney Daley, who combined for 12 strikeouts. The offense was led by Val Beyer (2 for 3), who had an RBI-double in the 4th inning.
Manchester 12, Simsbury 0. Kelly Gentilcore tossed a no-hitter for Manchester and was backed by the hitting of Ariel Diaz (2 doubles, 4 RBIs), Allie Vitkus (2 hits, 3 RBIs, 2 stolen bases) and Chrissy Wakefield (2 hits, 2 RBIs, 2 stolen bases). Simsbury was led by starting pitcher Allie Garry and the solid defense of Alex Girard, who threw a runner out at the plate.
Windsor 6, Vernon 1. Windsor downed Vernon 6-1 behind Lauren Mercik, Shauna Greene and Molly Parker. Vernon was led by Hilary Moody, Jamie Vallarelli and Courtney Lyons.
Ellington 8, Simsbury 3. Ellington jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Simsbury scored three in the final inning. Morgan McPartland (8Ks) pitched well to earn the win. Marin Cleary scored two runs and Grace Durgan made some good defensive stops. Simsbury pitchers Jessie Rocha (3IP,3Ks) and Allie Garry (2IP,2Ks) held Ellington to two hits. Simsbury's left fielder, Alex Girard, threw to catcher Christa Fagone for a putout at home plate to end an Ellington threat in the 4th inning.
Windsor 6, Granby 2. Windsor defeated Granby 6-2 behind the play of Kelly O'Brien, Emma Dulz and Jess Coffey. Granby standouts were Kristin Watterlond, Nadine Foster and Katie Kelleher.
Glastonbury 4, Vernon 3. Vernon jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 3 innings before a 2-run single by Glastonbury's Michelle Nogas in the 4th inning scored Hayley Hoge and Amanda Longley. The score remained 3-2 until the last inning, when Hoge led off with an infield single and then stole second base. Katie Uricchio's RBI-single scored Hoge to tie the game. Uricchio then scored the winning run on Amanda Longley's fielder's choice. Hoge and Nicole Deskus pitched well for Glastonbury. Vernon's Elissa Graf and Kelly Falkowski both scored runs and Jamie Vallarelli played solid defense.
Canton 10, Ellington 7. (from 9/23) Monique Gauthier (4Ks, 2 assists) pitched the 10-7 win over Ellington. Frances Klimczak (double, run) and Elise Minichiello (triple, 2 runs) paced the offense. Morgan McPartland (4Ks) pitched well for Ellington. Kelly McPartland and Ashleigh Williams (2 runs) had hits.

West Hartford 6, Manchester 4. West Hartford took a 6-1 lead into the third inning and held on to get the victory. Valerie Beyer pitched the complete game, allowing only two hits. Val also helped her own cause with a two run double in the third. Chelsie Velez reached base three times as she and Zoe Mendal each scored two runs for West Hartford. Manchester was led by Ariel Diaz, who had a long double, and Kira Shaikh with a single. Trixie Umali also reached base twice and scored.
Canton 10, Vernon 3. Monique Gauthier pitched a no-hitter, striking out 11, as Canton downed Vernon 10-3. She also helped her cause at the plate with a double, run, RBI and two stolen bases. Deanna DeSanti had two hits, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Melissa Parente, Sarah Benedetti and Sarah Sapia each singled and scored. Ashley Barselau scored a run for Vernon and Courtney Lyons and Elissa Graf played well defensively.
Windsor 9, Coventry 5. Lauren Mercik, Kelly O'Brien and Lauren Backhaus led Windsor to a 9-5 win over Coventry.
Canton 2, Windsor 0. Canton blanked Windsor 2-0 behind Monique Gauthier's 14-strikeout pitching effort. She also helped herself with a single at the plate, as did Frances Klimczak. Sarah Sapia and Adrianne Kunkel scored the Canton runs. Windsor's Lauren Backhaus pitched five strong innings, striking out nine Canton batters. Kelly O'Brien and Karinna Nazario played well on Windsor's defense.
South Windsor 8, Simsbury 0. Allyson Fournier pitched a no-hitter with nine strikeouts. She also chipped in with three runs scored. Susan Orsini (3 hits) and Jenna Borrman (2 hits) were key to South scoring six runs in the first two innings. South's defense was highlighted by a well executed "pickle" at home by Tori Thomson and Steph Rahm to preserve the shutout. Sean Glenn, Jessie Rocha and Tessa DiGennaro led Simsbury's defense.
Manchester 5, Vernon 2. Manchester ended their season with a victory over a solid Vernon team. Kelly Gentilcore allowed only one hit through six innings, and struck out six. Manchester's offense was led by Gabbie Dube (2 doubles, 2 runs) and Kira Shaikh (2 runs). Erin Selavka pitched well for Vernon, striking out seven. Kelly Robichaud lined a hard drive to right field in the 4th inning, and scored a run. Kelly Falkowski gunned down a Manchester runner at the plate with a fantastic throw from centerfield. Falkowski also scored the other Vernon run.
West Hartford 6, Granby 6 (tie). Trailing 6-4, West Hartford's Valerie Beyer entered the game in the second inning with the bases loaded and shut the door on Granby, allowing West Hartford to come back and gain a tie. Marisa Taddei, Miranda Mantello and Kelsey Larsen all had two hits each to lead West Hartford. Chrissy Cooper pitched well for Granby and helped her cause with a run-scoring single. Kristin Watterlond continued to play well at shortstop, with three assists.
Glastonbury 4, Granby 3. Hanna Lindeyer, Nadine Foster and Katie Kelleher led the Granby offense, each with a hit and an RBI.
South Windsor 11, Ellington 2. Emily Armstrong (2 doubles) pitched a complete game, giving up no earned runs. Steph Rahm (2 hits, 3 runs) and Ashley Tremonte (2 hits, 2 runs) complimented South's offense. Sue Morton, Nichole Sylvester and Sami Sutay also played well for South Windsor. Morgan McPartland persevered by pitching a complete game for Ellington. Grace Durgan had two hits and Kailyn Lundeberg, Kelly McPartland, Jocelyn Close and Kerry Sawamura chipped in with a hit each.
Simsbury 4, Tolland 2. Tolland and Simsbury matched up in a pitchers' duel with Simsbury winning 4-2. Allie Garry came out on top, striking out nine. But Tolland's Mindy Sharon, limiting Simsbury to only one hit, struck out 12. The difference in the game was Simsbury working out a few more walks and their aggressive baserunning. Tolland's Alyssa Valenti led her team with two hits and Simsbury's Christa Fagone had the team's only hit and an RBI.

9:00AM Games
Granby 6, Canton 5. Granby came from behind in the bottom of the 5th inning to eek out a 6-5 win over Canton. Bethany Grupp pitched a complete game, backed by a very energetic team, striking out seven. Kristin Watterlond scored three times, including the game winner. Addie Koehler started the 5th inning rally with a line drive single and Hanna Lindeyer drove in the winning run with a single just inside the left field line. Monique Gauthier pitched five innings for Canton, striking out twelve and walking four. Melissa Parente (2 hits, run), Christina Cardwell (single) and Rose Minichiello (bunt single, run) were the stars on offense for Canton.

Tolland 14, West Hartford 3.
10:30AM Games
Ellington 7, Vernon 6 (7 innings). In a new-found tradition between Ellington and Vernon, all players met on the field and greeted each other before the game. Vernon opened by scoring two runs in the top of the first (Ashley Barselau and Kelly Robichaud) anfd third (Kelly Robichaud and Aimee Yost) to take a 4-0 lead. Ellington struggled to get on track until the bottom of the 3rd, scoring three runs (Grace Durgan, Ashleigh Williams and SAmantha Harney) for a 4-3 Vernon lead. At the end of the 5th, Ellington held a 6-5 lead after scoring one in the 4th (Kelly McPartland) and two in the 5th (Kailyn Lundeberg and Marin Cleary) to Vernon's one run (Kelly Robichaud) in the fifth. Vernon came back in the top of the 6th with a run (Kristen Messier) and held Ellington for a tie as regulation time expired. Using International Tie Breaker rules, Ellington held Vernon and then scored in the bottom of the 7th on a one-out hit from Alyssa Deland for a 7-6 win.
South Windsor 8, Tolland 3. South Windsor started with four quick runs in the first inning. Mindy Sharon was brought in to pitch in relief and tamed the South lineup with seven strikeouts and just one walk. South Windsor's offense was led by Tori Thomson (2 hits) and Sue Orsini (1 hit, 2 runs). Allyson Fournier and Emily Armstrong combined on a no-hitter for South and Ashley Tremonte made an outstanding backhanded play at second base. Tolland played well, led by Sam Olson, Kim Tanguay and Sara Gallichant.
Manchester 8, Simsbury 3.
12:00PM Games / Semi-Finals
Manchester 11, Granby 4. Manchester scored 8 runs in the 4th inning to break open a close game and advance to the tournament final. Nadine Foster led an undermanned Granby team, holding Manchester scoreless for the first two innings before their bats came alive. Chrissy Cooper led the Granby offense with two doubles.
Ellington 6, South Windsor 5. South Windsor took an early 3-0 lead before Ellington's 5-run rally in the top of the fourth inning put them ahead 5-3. Chelsea Hebert scored for South in the bottom half of the inning to make it a 1-run game. Ellington added a run in the top of the sixth on a triple by Ashleigh Williams and an RBI-single by Samantha Harney. South Windsor answered with a triple by Sara Fulton and hits by Tori Thomson and Emily Armstrong to close to 6-5, but stranded the tieing run at third base. Ellington's Morgan McPartland got the win, pitching the complete game and fanning 10 South batters. Samantha Harney and Kerry Sawamura had two hits apiece, Grace Durgan and Marin Cleary one hit each, and Ashleigh Williams had a triple. Emily Fillion played well on defense for the winners. Emily Armstrong led South, pitching a complete game with five strikeouts. She also had two hits on offense. Allyson Fournier had a pair of hits and Sara Fulton tripled and scored two runs.
Championship Game
Ellington 8, Manchester 6. Ellington scored five runs in the top of the first inning on consecutive hits by Morgan McPartland, Taylor Brown, Courtney Carver, Alyssa Deland and Kerry Sawamura and never looked back. Manchester scored two runs each in the first, third and fourth but Ellington managed a 8-6 lead after four innings. The last two innings were scoreless as Ellington hung on for the victory. Manchester's Kelly Gentilcore (6Ks) pitched a complete game. Kira Shaikh had two hits and Allie Vitkus (2 runs) and Ariel Diaz each had a hit. For Ellington, Morgan McPartland also went the distance, striking out nine. Kerry Sawamura had two hits and Kelly McPartland, Taylor Brown, Courtney Carver, Alyssa Deland, Grace Durgan and Morgan McPartland all contributed hits.
