Tuesday, June 17th
Simsbury 3, West HartfordI 1. Simsbury edged West Hartford in a well-played game by a score of 3 to 1. Alie Garry, Carly Williams and Jessie Rocha pitched well for Simsbury, giving up just one run. Kelsey LaBranche provided the offensive spark with a two-run single. West Hartford pitcher Courtney Daley pitched a complete game, surrendering only three hits. Becky Hoisl hit a double and a triple and scored the West Hartford run. Sarah Allen played a great game defensively behind the plate.
Tolland 4, Ellington 3. Tolland downed Ellington 4-3 in the season opener. Jess Olson pitched a good game, striking out nine and walking just one. Kelsey Kaplan hit well with a double to score the tieing run. Kelsey Lewis played well on defense, including a game-saving throw to home plate. Joanna DiStefano pitched well for Ellington, allowing only three hits. MacKenzie Whiting went 2 for 3 at the plate, including a triple. Christine Spartz drove in two of the three Ellington runs.
Windsor 15, West HartfordII 5. Kelsey Ballard pitched Windsor past West Hartford 15-5, striking out eight. LaRessa Tessier had a great offensive game, going 3 for 4 with a homerun and Katie Dulz went 4 for 4. For West Hartford, Melissa Martucci went 3 for 3 and drove in two runs. Colleen Corrigan had two great bunts and Emily Grace had a pair of hits.

Thursday, June 19th
Granby 8, West HartfordII 0. Neve Stearns struck out 12 in five innings & walked none as Granby blanked West HartfordII. Emily Ohannesian had a two-run single to break the game open. Colleen Corrigan had a solid single for West HartfordII.
Enfield 7, West HartfordI 1. Cari Conley fanned eleven as Enfield overcame West HartfordI 7-1. Cheyanne Krogmann had 3 RBIs. Charlotte Moller pitched well for West HartfordI. Caroline Karanian had a double and Jamie Lohneiss played well defensively.
Windsor 9, Suffield 5. Windsor defeated Suffield 9-5 as Catherine Dunleavy pitched five strong innings to get the win. Sharon Grimshaw went 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs and scored twice. Sierra Shemanskis had a two-run single. Lauren Gifford, Anna Boucher and Allie Moreno all pitched well for Suffield.
Vernon 13, Ashford 2. Chrissy Pettengill's grandslam homer was the offensive highlight in Vernon's 13-2 win over Ashford. Sarah Carpenter pitched the win, with defensive support from Dee Cashman. Lydia Bray and Alyssa Varrier played well for Ashford.
South Windsor 4, Somers 2.
Glastonbury 22, Ellington 3.
Friday, June 20th
East Hartford 6, Somers 0. (from 6/17) East Hartford defeated Somers 6-0 in a game shortened by rain. Megan Kennedy pitched a one-hit shutout, striking out six and walking only one. She was aided on defense by two charging catches by Leana Berrios and Erin Walsh. Erin Walsh also led the offense with a triple and a single. Stephanie Rodgers added two hits and Elizabeth Arpin hit a double. Somers was led by Ainsley Wilson, who singled in the fourth inning to break up the no-hitter, and on defense by Emily Vanasse, who accounted for five putouts at second base.
Ashford at Glastonbury (from 6/17) - suspended in 4th inning, to be resumed on Sunday, July 20th.
Sunday, June 22nd
Canton 7, Simsbury 0 (forfeit).
Monday, June 23rd
Canton at Simsbury - rescheduled to Friday, July 25th.
Tuesday, June 24th
Somers 7, Ashford 5. Somers defeated Ashford 7-5. Somers made a great double play, Hailee Stetson at third to Teresa Garlick at second. Marisa Forti went 2 for 3 and scored twice. Allie Dubanoski crushed a long ball just shy of a homerun, settling for a ground ruled double. Colleen Ecsedy and Taylor Holmes pitched very well for Ashford. Alyssa Varrieur and Charlotte Kelleher had good games defensively.
Suffield 9, West HartfordII 7. Suffield hung on against a furious last-inning rally by West HartfordII to win 9-7. Suffield was led by the strong starting pitching of Meg Maliga, who struck out eleven batters and gave up only one run in 4 1/3 innings. Gabby Arruda and Kelly Kenney had doubles to lead a balanced Suffield attack. West Hartford, refusing to quit, scored six runs in the seventh inning.
Willington 3, Tolland 1. Maggie Kryznel pitched a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead Willington to a 3-1 win against Tolland. Jess Olson pitched well for Tolland with nine strikeouts. The game was scoreless until the 5th inning when Josie Borysevicz started Willington off with a single, followed by two walks to load the bases. Lauren Dominique lined a single to right to score two runs. A fielder's choice followed to score a third run. Tolland scored their only run in the bottom of the 7th after Ashley Clawson bunted for a single. Willington committed an error on a hit by Megan Lester that allowed Ashley to score. Erica Tremko had two hits for Willington Taylor Vonacek made the defensive play of the game, taking a hit away from Brianna Penney.
Simsbury 9, Enfield 3. Carly Williams struck out 14 and gave up only two hits as Simsbury downed Enfield 9 to 3. Emily Forzono and Alie Garry led the Simsbury offense by scoring three runs each. Maddy Gauthier also hit well for Simsbury and Forzono played a great game defensively behind the plate. Enfield was led by Cari Conley, who struck out seven and surrendered only three hits.
Canton 7, West HartfordI 6.

Thursday, June 26th
Enfield 4, Windsor 0. Enfield defeated Windsor 4-0 in a classic pitchers' duel that went scoreless until the 6th inning. Neither side issued any walks through the first five innings and combined for 23 strikeouts. Cari Conley earned the win for Enfield, striking out twelve. Jessica Crank tripled and Cheyanne Krogmann knocked in a run. Catherine Dunleavy doubled for Windsor and Kristen Young and Mary Deneen played well on defense.
Willington 9, South Windsor 6. Willington pitcher Josie Borysevicz threw a complete game with 12 Ks for the win against South Windsor. Josie, Lauren Dominique and Morgan Stewart each had two hits for Willington. Haley Moquin and Alyson Stearns both went 2 for 3 and Aubrey Wood played well defensively for South Windsor.
East Hartford 4, Ashford 0. East Hartford defeated Ashford 4-0 behind the strong one-hit pitching of Megan Kennedy, who struck out twelve and walked five. Elizabeth Arpin led the offense with two hits. Kylie Hill collected Ashford's lone hit. Ashford was led on defense by pitchers Colleen Ecsedy and Taylor Holmes.

Friday, June 27th
Willington 7, Somers 1. Willington pitcher Maggie Kryznel had another strong outing, notching 14 Ks while holding Somers to just one run. She also had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Josie Borysevicz and Erica Tremko each had a double and a run scored for Willington. Kylan O'Hearn scored Somers' lone run. Marisa Forti had a hit and Sam Urbon made several nice plays at the shortstop position.
East Hartford 6, Vernon 5 (9 innings).
Glastonbury 19, South Windsor 13.
Tuesday, July 1st
West HartfordI 15, Granby 5. West Hartford notched their first win of the season at Granby. Caroline Karanian led the way offensively with a double, a triple, 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored. Becky Hoisl had a hit and scored three runs and Jennifer Lohneiss crossed the place twice for West Hartford. Natana Mann pitched well and added a double. Sam Arnone had a nice hit for Granby and Erin Walsh had a hit and played well defensively.
Simsbury 6, Suffield 4. Simsbury's Alie Garry pitched a full game, striking out nine batters and led the team offensively, scoring three runs on three hits. Suffield's defense was strong for the night with Kelly Kenney making two outstanding catches in the outfield as well as having a good hitting game.
Canton at Windsor postponed by rain to Wednesday, July 2nd.
East Hartford at Ellington - suspended by rain in the 2nd inning; to be resumed Monday, July 28th.
Enfield at West HartfordII - postponed by rain to a later date.
Willington at Glastonbury - postponed by rain to a later date.

Wednesday, July 2nd
Canton 13, Windsor 6. (from 7/1) Canton pitchers Brittany King and Christina Cardwell had another strong outing. They were assisted by 4 RBIs from Jillian Goeler in her debut game behind the plate. Windsor played a solid game and was aided by Catherine Dunleavy with 2 RBIs, Sharon Grimshaw with strong defensive play and an outstanding effort behind the plate by LaRessa Tessier.
Thursday, July 3rd
West HartfordI 5, Windsor 4. Jessica Dufault earned the win for West Hartford with three shutout innings in the circle. Natana Mann and Hannah Moller each tripled and Caroline Bye had a double to lead the offense. Jamie Lohneiss was the defensive standout with two great catches in left field. Charlotte Moller held off a late Windsor rally to earn the save. For Windsor, Mary Deneen pitched a complete game, striking out five and surrendering only three hits. Kristen Young had a great game defensively at shortstop.
South Windsor 7, Ellington 5.

Monday, July 7th
Simsbury 5, Granby 3. (from 6/26) Pitching for Simsbury was shared by Carly Williams and Alie Garry, who collectively struck out 17 batters for the night. The winning run for Simsbury was scored by Alyssa Coleman in the last inning of the game. Granby's Neve Stearns pitched well, striking out eleven batters. Anna Glassman had a strong game both offensively and defensively behind the plate. Amy Bilodeau made several good plays at the shortstop position.
Tuesday, July 8th
Granby 2, Enfield 0. In a classic pitchers' duel, Neve Stearns outdueled Cari Conley as Granby edged Enfield 2-0. Both pitchers allowed only two hits, with Neve striking out 13 and Cari 10. Anna Glassman had a single, RBI-double and two stolen bases to provide the offense for Granby.
Suffield 7, Canton 5. Playing at home, Suffield defeated Canton 7-5 behind the strong pitching of Megan Maliga. Suffield had key hits from Aleesha Guzzi and Katie Mahoney, who also played well in the field. Lauren Gifford was stellar behind the plate.
West HartfordI 17, West HartfordII 4. Jessica Dufault earned her third straight win for West HartfordI with another solid performance in the circle, striking out eight and allowing only two hits over five innings. She also scored three runs on offense to help her own cause. Caroline Bye had three hits, drove in two and scored three times to pace the West HartfordI offense. Jennifer Lohneiss delivered a pair of bunt singles and scored three runs, and Jessilyn Hartman roped a pair of screaming line drives for base hits to drive in two runs. Charlotte Moller and Hannah Moller each had two hits. For West HartfordII, Emily Grace pitched a complete game, striking out eight. Sarah Rose Slate had a frozen rope single and scored two runs and Cassidy Grinsell reached base three times from the leadoff spot and scored a run. Melissa Martucci played well defensively behind the plate.
Somers 13, Glastonbury 11. Somers defeated Glastonbury 13-11 as Sam Urbon pitched a complete game, striking out 13. Hailee Stetson did a great job behind the plate. Glastonbury rallied back strong in the 7th inning. Kelsi McRee had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and Ashley Maher went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs.
East Hartford 1, Tolland 0. In a classic pitching duel between East Hartford's Megan Kennedy and Tolland's Jessica Olson, East Hartford defeated Tolland 1-0. Megan struck out 14, walked one and gave up just two hits. Jeccica pitched a one-hitter, striking out nine and walking one. East Hartford was led on offense by Jackie Damaschi, who got East's lone hit, and Nicky Burns, who drove in the run. Catcher Shannon Klock led the East Hartford defense. Tolland was led on offense by Haley Provost, who was 2 for 3, and on defense by centerfielder Shaina Carter, who made two nice catches, one robbing a lead-off extra base hit.
Simsbury 6, Windsor 4. Alie Garry pitched a full game for Simsbury, allowing one earned run while striking out ten batters with Bridget Cook catching a good game behind the plate. Simsbury's offense was led by Sarah Tully's two doubles, driving in two runs. Emily Forzono made two strong defensive plays at shortstop with Stephanie Williams hitting strong for the night. Windsor's LaRessa Tessier led their offense with two hits and two RBIs while Kim DoAn made a nice defensive play in left field that resulted in a double play for Windsor.
Willington (4) at Vernon (4)(tie, 9 innings). After a nine inning seesaw battle, including two innings using the international tie-breaker, the game ended in a 4-4 tie. Willington pitcher Josie Borysevicz pitched a complete game, notching 11 strikeouts. The offense was led by Erica Tremko, who had a hit and scored the tieing run in the 7th inning on a hard hit ball by Maggie Kryznel. Alexa Manaskie had a hit and scored once. Vernon's Courtney Oliva also pitched a complete game, striking out three.
Ashford at Ellington - rescheduled to Friday, July 18th.
Thursday, July 10th
West HartfordII 8, West HartfordI 7. West HartfordII won its first game, beating WHI 8-7 in a back and forth battle. In the bottom of the 7th inning, with two outs and down 8-5, West HartfordI scored two runs and had the tieing run on first base. On a line drive heading to centerfield, Colleen Corrigan, WHII's shortstop, made an over-the-head catch on the outfield grass to preserve the win. Emily Grace pitched the win for West HartfordII, striking out 11 opposing batters. Caroline Bye did a great job behind the plate for West HartfordI and Jessica Dufault pitched a very gutsy game but took the tough loss.
Willington 14, Vernon 4. Vernon jumped out to a 4-0 lead but the Willington offense took over from there and scored 14 unanswered runs to win 14-4. Josie Borysevicz (3 hits, 2 runs), Erica Tremko (3 hits, 2 RBI, 2 runs), Maggie Kryznel (2 doubles, single, 4 RBI, 2 runs), Sarah Rupp (homerun, single, 3 RBI, 2 runs) and Mackensie Murphy (2 hits, 1 run) did the damage for Willington. Kryznel earned the win, striking out 11 Vernon batters. Vernon was led by Laura Skoly (2 hits, RBI), Megan Gardiner (single, double) and Sarah Carpenter (single).
Simsbury 9, Windsor 4. Alie Garry pitched well for Simsbury, striking out 11 batters. Offensively, Alyssa Coleman (2 RBIs) and Cassie Rocha led the winners. Allison Mendola had a good night at the plate for Windsor.
Glastonbury 7, Somers 6.
Canton 8, Suffield 2.
Tolland 8, East Hartford 3.

Friday, July 11th
Vernon 8, Somers 5. Courtney Oliva pitched a complete game as Vernon beat Somers 8-5. Chrissy Pettengill had two hits and Dylan Piacenta had two hits and 3 RBIs. Laura Skoly had a good game defensively. Teresa Garlick, Kylan O'Hearn and Sam Urbon played well for Somers.
West HartfordI 19, Suffield 7. (from 6/26) Hannah Moller led West Hartford's offense with 4 hits (including a double and a triple), three RBIs and two runs scored. Caroline Bye had three hits and scored three runs from the leadoff spot, while Jamie Lohneiss drove in three runs and Sarah Allen drove in two as West Hartford scattered 16 hits on the night. Sam Guzzi had two hits and scored a run for Suffield, while leadoff hitter Kacey Gifford reached base three times, scored a run and pitched well in relief.
East Hartford 9, Glastonbury 4. East Hartford collected 11 hits en route to a 9-4 victory over Glastonbury. Megan Kennedy had another strong outing, striking out 11, walking 4 and giving up just 4 hits. East Hartford was led on offense by Sieera Gonzalez (3-4) and Cassie Quattropani, who had two doubles and 4 RBIs. Erin Walsh also added two hits. Cassidy Longo, Ashley Maher, Lauren Dimarco and Katie Connolly had hits for Glastonbury. Connolly also had a strong game behind the plate.
South Windsor 11, Tolland 3.
Monday, July 14th
Simsbury 9, West HartfordI 7. Simsbury scored 5 runs in the 7th inning to overcome West HartfordI 9-7. Alie Garry pitched a solid game for Simsbury, Caitlin Wing made several defensive plays along with providing 2 RBIs on offense and Maggie Gauthier had a key catch in left field. Offensively, Carly Williams provided the game-winning run on a 2-run double. West Hartford's Courtney Daley pitched a complete game, striking out seven, and was supported by Becky Hoisl and Jennifer Lohneiss with strong defensive plays. Jamie Lohneiss drove in a run on a bunt single and scored two runs.
Canton 3, Granby 1. (from 7/3)
Tuesday, July 15th
Enfield 3, Suffield 0. Cari Conley of Enfield pitched a two-hitter to record her second consecutive shutout. Cheyanne Krogmann scored a run and Jamie Wonderly played well defensively, catching two sharply hit line drives. Standouts for Suffield included Meg Maliga for her pitching, Sarah D'Agata and Gabby Arruda for her hitting.
Granby 5, Canton 3. In a well-played seesaw battle, Granby scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to retake the lead after Brittany King hit a solid single in the top of the inning to put Canton ahead. Emily Ohannasian had three hits, including an RBI-single to finish the Granby rally. Michelle Raabe and Audrey Koehler each had strong games in the field, with Michelle recording the final out with runners on 2nd and 3rd to end Canton's attempt to comeback again.
West HartfordI 8, Windsor 7. West HartfordI and Windsor played a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle in which both teams played well. West HartfordI earned the win behind a huge night at the plate by Becky Hoisl, who had three triples and a single, three RBIs and three runs scored. Sarah Allen laid down a sacrifice bunt to score Hoisl with the deciding run. The pitching committee of Jessica Dufault, Natana Mann, Charlotte Moller and Courtney Daley combined for the win, and Jamie Lohneiss made yet another great catch in the outfield. Mary Deneen went the distance in the circle for Windsor with another impressive performance, striking out nine. Alyssa Moskites had a double and played well defensively.
Simsbury 17, West HartfordII 0. Simsbury's Alie Garry pitched a strong game, striking out 12 batters, with Bridget Cook catching a good game defensively behind the plate. Stephanie Williams started the game with a solid hit, driving in the first two runs and Nikki Byer had a good night offensively, scoring three runs. Christa Fagone scored twice and made a good catch in centerfield. West Hartford's Melissa Martucci hit well.
Vernon 20, Glastonbury 2. Vernon downed Glastonbury 20-2 behind the firepower of Dylan Piacenta (2 hits, 4 RBIs) and Emily Vincze (2 hits, 2 RBIs), Nicole Ciampa, Allison Newhall and Laura Skoly had three hits apiece. Mary Howard and Kelly Oscarson had hits for Glastonbury.
Tolland 6, Somers 5. Tolland edged Somers 6-5 behind Jessica Olson's 12-strikeout pitching. She also scored two runs to help her cause. Sam Lord had a strong game behind the plate and Hayley Provost had a good game in the field. Teresa Garlick led Somers' defense with a strong performance at second base. Ainsley Wilson and Emily Vanasse both doubled to pace the offense.
Willington 12, Ashford 2. Josie Borysevicz had another strong outing in the circle, notching 11 strikeouts. She also had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs. Erica Tremko had two hits, including a triple, and scored three times. Sarah Rupp (2 hits, 3 RBIs, 2 runs) and Maggie Kryznel (2 hits, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) were also a big part of the Willington offense. Alexa Manaskie played a solid shortstop and scored twice. Ashford was led by Taylor Holmes, who pitched a complete game, recording five strikeouts. She also made a couple of nice fielding plays. Mariah Ross and Alyssa Varrieur both had a hit as well.
South Windsor 20, Ellington 4.
Wednesday, July 16th
Willington 7, East Hartford 6 (9 innings). Maggie Kryznel (11 Ks) of Willington and Megan Kennedy (13 Ks) of East Hartford squared off in a classic pitchers' duel. Willington took a 4-1 lead after 3 innings behind Josie Borysevicz' triple and a double by Erica Tremko, who also made a couple outstanding playes at 2nd base. East Hartford scored twice in the 5th after Shannon Klock singled to start the inning and scored her second run of the game when Leana Berrios singled. East tied the contest in the 7th when Kennedy singled and later scored on a Willington miscue. Kryznel struck out a batter to strand the go-ahead run at third base. Kennedy fanned two in the bottom half of the inning to force extra innings. Neither team scored in the 8th inning, both stranding a runner at third base. In the 9th, East Hartford scored twice after a double by Jackie Damaschi and then a single by Cassie Quattropani. In the bottom of the 9th, Morgan Stewart lined a shot to right field for a 2-run homer to re-tie the game. After Alexa Manaskie and Tracy Aforismo reached base, MacKenzie Murphy hit a hard ground ball which could not be handled and the winning run scored.
Thursday, July 17th
Enfield 13, West HartfordII 1. Cari Conley started for Enfield and pitched three perfect innings and Kaitlyn Krogmann allowed just one run in four innings of relief. Rebecca Scanlon led the stingy Fireball defense and Jamie Wonderly's triple was the offense highlight. Standouts for West HartfordII were Alyssa Mantello and Colleen Corrigan, who both had good games at the plate.
Simsbury 17, Suffield 1. Simsbury's Carly Williams pitched a strong game, giving up one run on two hits, and working well with Emily Forzono, who had a good game behind the plate. Strong defensive plays were made by Christa Fagone and Nikki Byer. Offensively, Alie Garry scored 4 runs, Carly Williams had 5 RBIs and Emily Forzono had three hits and scored three runs. Alyssa Coleman, Maggie Gauthier and Stephanie Williams also had hits. Sam Guzzi and Aleesha Guzzi had Suffield's two hits.
Willington 17, Glastonbury 3. The Willington offense was led by Erica Tremko, who went 3-4 with two doubles and 3 runs scored. Josie Borysevicz earned the win, striking out six. She was also a big contributor on offense with two hits, including a homerun, and three RBIs. Sarah Rupp had two hits and scored three times. Tracy Aforismo had a triple, double and scored a run. Sara Brunette had a single, RBI and scored a run. Glastonbury was led by Mary Howard, with two hits and a run scored, Cassidy Longo, with a double and two runs scored, and Nicki Gottschalk, who singled.
Tolland 4, Vernon 3. Jess OLson pitched a complete game, striking out 13, as Tolland edged Vernon 4-3. She also had a hit and scored a run to help her cause. Alison Whitlock had two base hits and scored a run. Brianna Penney had three RBIs. Courtney Oliva (9 Ks) pitched well for Vernon and also had two hits. Sara Carpenter and Sam Kraft played well defensively.
East Hartford 8, Ellington 3. East Hartford defeated Ellington behind the strong pitching of Megan Kennedy and Sierra Gonzalez. Leana Berrios and Nicky Burns led the offense with two hits apiece. Kristina Burns anchored the defense with her solid play at first. Ellington was led on offense by Emily Fillion, Paige Brunette, Chelsea Lundeberg and Katrina Parker. Emily also had a strong game at shortstop.
Granby 12, West HartfordI 6. Granby had its best offensive night of the season, with everyone reaching base at least once. Brittany Schultz and Meaghan Schulteis were both on base three times. West Hartford's offensive attack was led by Jessica Dufault and Laura Hamilton, each with two hits.
South Windsor 11, Ashford 9.
Windsor 11, Canton 5.
Friday, July 18th
Enfield 4, Canton 3. (from 6/17) Enfield narrowly defeated Canton in a close back-and-forth game that saw lots of good offense kept in check by good defense by both sides. Cari Conley went the distance for Enfield, recording 9 strikeouts and giving up only 4 hits. Shannon Cherpak had 2 RBIs for Enfield, scored a run and played good defense. Canton's Olivia Bonini hit one way past the outfielders for a standup triple, and Christina Cardwell had a hit, scored a run and hit the ball hard all four atbats.
Willington 11, Tolland 0. Willington blanked Tolland led by Mackenzie Murphy, who had a triple and scored three times. Joanna Mikel had a hit and scored two runs and Tracy Aforismo had two hits and a run scored. Taylor Vonacek and Morgan Stewart each scored twice. Maggie Kryznel pitched a complete game and recorded six strikeouts. Tolland was led by Allison Whitlock, Brianna Penney (2 hits) and Jackie Forman, who was playing short fielder. She made several nice plays in the field, including two double plays.
Ashford 9, Ellington 8. (from 7/8) Ashford overcame an early Ellington lead with strong batting in the 4th and 5th innings. The defense was led by pitcher Colleen Ecsedy and catchers Alyssa Varrieur and Danny Wrubel. Varrieur made a great heads-up double play, making both outs, in the last inning to end the game. Ellington had strong catching by Christine Spartz and Emily Fillion, who was behind the plate for the first time. Joanna DiStefano pitched well.

Monday, July 21st
Simsbury 17, West HartfordII 2. (from 7/3) Carly Williams and Alie Garry both pitched well for Simsbury, allowing just two runs to score. They and Sarah Tully and Bridget Cook all scored three times each. Cassie Rocha had a nice double, driving in two runs. For West Hartford, Cassidy Grinell had a triple and Jackie Scalise had a single.
Tuesday, July 22nd
Canton 14, West HartfordII 4. Canton's Leigh Fitzgerald pitched a complete game, striking out seven. Olivia Bonini had a monster triple that drove in a run, followed by Liz Mutch's RBI-double. West HartfordII's Melissa Martucci played solid defense behind the plate. Their closing pitcher, Emily Grace, pitched well, striking out six.
Willington 8, South Windsor 1. Maggie Kryznel was in the circle for Willington and recorded 11 strikeouts on her way to an 8-1 win over South Windsor. The Willington offense was led by Tracy Aforismo with a triple, homerun and 3 RBI. Sara Brunette had two hits and scored two runs. Josie Borysevicz had two hits and scored once. South Windsor was led by Allison Stearns with two hits, KC Karasinski with a hit and an RBI and Katie Strong with a hit.
Ellington 2, Somers 1. Ellington edged Somers 2-1 behind Joanna DiStefano's 9-strikeout pitching. She also scored one of the Ellington runs. Batterymate Mackenzie Whiting went 3 for 3 with a triple and threw out three baserunners. Sam Urbon pitched well for Somers, recording eight strikeouts. She helped herself with two hits, including a triple. Allie Dubanoski went 2 for 3 with two doubles and Christa Drummey had a triple.
Enfield 13, Windsor 2. Cari Conley's bat sparked the Enfield offense with a single, double and triple, while her 13-strikeout pitching held Windsor to four hits. Nicole "Shorty" Meunier scored three runs and Melissa Urbon hit a double and scored a run. For Windsor, Mary Deneen pitched well, striking out eight along the way. Kristen Young played well defensively and had two hits.
East Hartford 14, Ashford 3. East Hartford came out hitting, collecting nine hits and eight runs in the first two innings enroute to a 14-3 win over Ashford. Erin Walsh, Elizabeth Arpin and Megan Kennedy each had two hits to lead the offense. Kennedy also had another strong outing in the circle, allowing only one hit and striking out nine. The defense was led by Arpin at shortstop, Shannon Klock at first and Cassie Quattropani catching. Ashford was led on offense by Charlotte Kelleher, who got Ashford's lone hit, and Kylie Hill, who reached base twice. Colleen Ecsedy was Ashford's defensive standout; after making two great catches in centerfield, she came in to pitch the last two innings, striking out six and allowing no hits.

Willington 4, Ashford 0. Josie Borysevicz pitched 5 shutout innings, the Maggie Kryznel closed out the last two innings to hold Ashford scoreless. Wollington scored 4 runs in the 3rd inning and held on for the win. Kryznel had a double in the 3rd inning and Joanna Mikel had a hit and scored a run to lead the offense. Colleen Ecsedy (10 Ks) had the Willington batters off balance all game. Alyssa Varrieur had two hits for Ashford and Kylie Hill had a double.

Somers 6, Ellington 4. (from 6/26) Somers defeated Ellington 6 to 4 in a nail-biting game. Samantha Urbon pitched a complete game for Somers, striking out seven and allowing just two hits. Allie Dubanoski was 4 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored. Emily Vanasse scored once and had a good game behind the plate. Joanna DiStefano (12 Ks) pitched a great game for Ellington and scored a run on offense. Emily Fillion had two hits and scored twice. Mackenzie Whiting had three hits and played a good game defensively behind the plate. Great defense was played by both teams.

Monday, July 28th
Ellington 4, East Hartford 3 (9 innings). (resumption of game suspended by rain on 7/1) Ellington beat East Hartford in 9 innings by a score of 4-3. Joanna DiStefano got the win, striking out eighteen and scoring two runs on offense. Mackenzie Whiting had a single and a double and played well behind the plate. Haley Brown scored the winning run. For East Hartford, Megan Kennedy struck out 14 and had a hit. Nicky Burns and Jackie Damashi each scored a run.
Ashford 6, Somers 3. (from 7/24) Ashford took an early lead with strong bats in the 1st inning by Charlotte Kelleher, Lydia Bray, Alyssa Varrieur, Mariah Ross and Danielle Wrubel. Ashford's defense, led by pitchers Colleen Ecsedy and Taylor Holmes, held off a late comeback by Somers. Key players for Somers were Christa Drummey and Emily Vanasse.
Suffield 9, Granby 8. (from 6/17)
Tuesday, July 29th
Ashford 5, Vernon 3. Ashford staved off a late rally by Vernon and held on to win 5-3. Andrea Ricci had an awesome catch in centerfield to help save the game. Rachel Gagnon, Lydia Bray, Colleen Ecsedy and Ricci all had great hits. Michelle Correia, Laura Skoly and Chris Pettengill all had good hits for Vernon.
Enfield 7, West HartfordI 3. West Hartford took an early lead, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Enfield was held scoreless until the 4th, when they plated three and took the lead. West Hartford answered with one in the bottom of the inning to tie the game, but Enfield came right back with one in the 5th and three in the 6th to secure the win. The Fireballs' offense was led by Jamie Wonderlie, who hit a bases-loaded double. Katie Krogmann contributed with a single, an RBI and two runs scored. Standouts for West HartfordI were Courtney Daley, for her outstanding pitching performance, Beck Hoisl for smashing an RBI-triple over the heads of the outfielders and Caroline Bye for a great job catching.

Wednesday, July 30th
Ellington 7, Ashford 0. (from 7/10) Ellington shutout Ashford 7-0 as Joanna DiStefano pitched a no-hitter, striking out 11, and also got a hit on offense. Colleen Ecsedy pitched well in relief for Ashford.
Canton 10, West HartfordI 5. (from 7/24) Canton downed West HartfordI behind Christina Cardwell, who pitched a complete game, striking out five. She also helped herself with a single, double, 2 RBIs and two runs scored. Leigh Fitzgerald had 2 singles and an RBI. Olivia Bonini played solid defense behind the plate. Sarah Allen went 2 for 3 and scored a run for West Hartford. Caroline Bye played well defensively.
East Hartford 11, South Windsor 1. (from 7/24) East Hartford defeated South Windsor 11-1 behind the strong pitching of Megan Kennedy, who struck out nine, walked one and gave up five hits. East collected 12 hits, two each from Kennedy, Nico Damaschi, Cassie Quattropani, Steph Rodgers and Kristina Burns. The winners were led on defense by first baseman Nicky Burns and shortstop Liz Arpin. South Windsor was led on offense by Hayley Moquin and Brooke Stoker. Arielle Thomas played well in left field and at third base to lead the South defenders.
