Tuesday, June 15th
West Hartford 4, Suffield 0. Lianna Pevar tossed a complete game shutout as West Hartford downed Suffield 4-0. Pevar allowed only two hits while striking out seven. Kaitlin Fredette drove in the first two runs of the game with a 2-out single up the middle. Charlotte Moller, Molly Swanson, Michelle Joseph and Elle Fontanazza all added hits as well. Elle also made the defensive play of the game at third base, diving to her left to snare a line drive. Marissa Webb and Erin McGann had the two Suffield hits.
East Hartford 14, Enfield 0. Olivia Gonzalez and Suzanne Vachon shared the pitching for East Hartford for a 1-hit shutout of the Enfield Fireballs. Shyla Boutilier went 2 for 3 with a homerun and a double and Kevi Oatway had three hits for the winners. Liz Rogers pitched well for the Fireballs. Michelle Rivera hit a double for Enfield.
Windsor 10, Canton 3.

Thursday, June 17th
East Hartford 7, South Windsor 1. Olivia Gonzalez pitched seven innings, allowing just one hit, in East Hartford's 7-1 win over South Windsor. Third baseman Amanda Santiago and catcher Brianna Garay played great defense for East Hartford. Kristen Charest's triple was their highlight on offense. Maddy Silverman pitched very well for South Windsor. Second baseman Kelly Secord and shortstop Taylor Mulcahy both played solid defense for South.
Manchester Red 9, Glastonbury 4. Manchester Red topped Glastonbury 9-4 as Cam Dias pitched a complete game, scattering six hits and recording seven strikeouts. Lauren Yaffa led the Red defense. Dias, Sara Karr and Stephanie Hurlburt led the Manchester hitters. Jenna Garrison pitched well for Glastonbury. Kelly Miller and Katie Marchetti had good nights at the plate.
Manchester United 13, Hebron 12. In an exciting opening game with Hebron, during which were seven lead changes, United came from behind in the top of the 7th inning to overcome a 2-run deficit and win 13-12. Morgan Daley (4 for 4) and Meagan Chasse (3 for 3) led the offensive attack. Lauren Bis got the win in three innings of relief. Marissa Caron pitched six strong innings for Hebron and paced the offense with two solid hits. Andrea Jaskulski, Kelly Ryan and Carly Balskus contributed stellar defensive plays.
Windsor 10, Suffield 0.

Friday, June 18th
Coventry 11, Manchester United 0. (from 6/15) Coventry beat Manchester United 11-0 behind a strong pitching performance from Stephanie Morin, who recorded ten strikeouts. Hannah Vignone, Jessica Voros and Jen Dube led the Coventry hitters. Playing well for Manchester were pitcher Lauren Bis and Morgan Daly, who made a nice catch in left field. Bis also was part of the offense with a hit.
Saturday, June 19th
West Hartford 5, Simsbury 1. (from 6/17) Sarah Allen had two doubles and a single and Becky Hoisl homered and doubled to lead the West Hartford Fury past Simsbury. Charlotte Moller added two singles and also pitched the entire game, scattering five hits while striking out five batters. Laura Yablecki singled and doubled for Simsbury and Jess Palmberg chipped in with two hits as well. Alex McDermott stood out on defense with several terrific plays at second base.
Monday, June 21st
Coventry 13, Manchester United 3. (from 6/22) Strong pitching performances from Nicole Uccello and Kaila Parsons led Coventry to a 13-3 victory over Manchester United. Nicole also helped herself out offensively with two hits and great baserunning. Also hitting for Coventry were Hannah Vignone and Mariah Francis. Manchester United's Morgan Daly pitched well and received offensive help from Kathleen McCoy and Hope McCarrick. Jordann Bilodeau's great catch in left field highlighted the defense.
Tuesday, June 22nd
Simsbury 12, Suffield 1. Simsbury defeated Suffield 12-1 after five innings of play. Laura Yablecki and Taryn Braz led the offense with three hits apiece. Taryn also struck out eight and allowed only three hits in the circle. Suffield played hard.
Windsor 10, Manchester Red 0. Windsor got great pitching from Emily Parker to blank Manchester Red. Macy Fenlason, Alisha Collazo and Sierra Shemanskis drove in two runs apiece. Cam Dias had a good night at the plate for Manchester.
West Hartford 13, Canton 3. Sarah Allen continued to stay hot at the plate with a single and a double to lead the West Hartford Fury past Canton. Charlotte Moller pitched a complete game to notch her second win and also contributed a pair of hits. Kaitlin Fredette added a 2-run double as well. Canton was led by Lindsay Sugar and Kylie Delos with two hits apiece.
Glastonbury 14, Hebron 12. Hebron had a strong first inning, with nine of the first 10 batters scoring runs, but Glastonbury chipped away slowly with solid batting and great baserunning. For Hebron, starter Casey Pinckney began with four strong innings and Mykenzie Langan was great behind the plate. Marissa Caron also pitched well and had two hits. For Glastonbury, Taylor McDowell pitched seven solid innings, walking just one batter, and also made some nice defensive plays to first base. Robin Harris was a force catching, with only a few balls getting by her. Courtney Chowaniec and Kayla Oscarson each had two solid hits and ran the bases aggressively. Paige Brunner also hit well and stole home plate for a Glastonbury score.
Enfield 4, South Windsor 2. The Enfield Fireballs got off to a sizzling start in the first inning, plating four runs on five hits. Enfield's Emily Quail got things started with a one-out hit, followed by consecutive singles from Olivia Baillargeon and Michelle Rivera. Taylor Maier plated two runs with a triple to right field and scored on an infield single by Katie Saltzgiver. Kristen Serafin pitched a strong 5 1/3 innings for her first win of the year, and was relieved by Lisa Lusardi, who picked up the save. South Windsor's Lina Nguyen pitched six innings, striking out six, and retired 15 consecutive batters after the first inning. Ashley Hill, Rebecca Schroder and Miread Kelly each had two hits.
East Hartford 14, Somers 3.

Thursday, June 24th
Simsbury 11, Canton 1. Maddy Pranaitis pitched five strong innings, striking out six and allowing just four hits. Haley Tietje led the offense for Simsbury with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Canton's third baseman, Alex Powell, had a terrific game at the plate, going 3 for 3.
West Hartford 13, Windsor 2. The West Hartford Fury defeated Windsor 13-2 behind the bats of Colleen Goroshko, Michelle Joseph, Molly Swanson and Colleen Corrigan with two hits each. Lianna Pevar pitched the complete game for her second win. Windsor jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first on back-to-back singles by Leah Cagne-Vella and Kira Demitri and a 2-run double by Sierra Shemanski, who had two hits. The Fury stormed back in the bottom of the inning with nine runs, and Pevar kept Windsor's hitters at bay for the rest of the game. Elle Fontanazza and Becky Hoisl played great defensively.
Suffield 13, Enfield 3. Anna Boucher pitched fantastic in relief, going three strong innings to hold Enfield and allow Suffield to tie and eventually move ahead for good. She also had a 2-run double. Jill Kertanis went 2 for 3 and hit the ball hard each time she was up. Laura Sommerville pitched two scoreless innings to close the victory. Olivia Baillargeon pitched well in relief for the Enfield Fireballs and provided two base hits on offense. Serena "Wheels" Manzi reached base safely twice for Enfield and stole three bases on the night.
Somers 13, Hebron 4. Kylen O'Hearn pitched a complete game, striking out ten, as Somers downed Hebron 13-4. Marissa Forti and Dominique Herbert, who split time behind the plate, were defensive standouts. Emily Pintavalle and Carly Balskus played well for Hebron.
Manchester Red 13, Manchester United 9. Sara Karr, Nicole Molloy and Stephanie Gurski led Manchester Red over Manchester United by a score of 13-9. Julia Sirois, Megan Chasse and Ariel Hlavaty played well for United.
Coventry 5, Glastonbury 1. Coventry beat Glastonbury 5-1 behind a strong pitching performance by Eileen Zadrozny, who record 14 strikeouts. She was assisted by timely hitting from Kara Sander and Stephanie Morin. Jenna Garrison pitched well for Glastonbury, keeping the opposing hitters off balance all night. Alex Hutt hit the ball hard for Glastonbury.
Tuesday, June 29th
Simsbury 11, Windsor 2. Emma Gailey pitched well in the circle, with 8 strikeouts and allowing just 5 hits. The Simsbury offense came alive with 13 hits, led by Laura Yablecki, Allie Davis, Lindsey LoStimolo and Emma Gailey, who all had multiple hit games. Windsor's Sierra Shemanskis and Emily Parker each had two hits.
West Hartford 7, South Windsor 2. The West Hartford Fury defeated South Windsor behind the pitching of Lizzy Lagoy and Lianna Pevar, who picked up the win in relief. Charlotte Moller had three hits to lead the Fury and Becky Hoisl ripped a 3-run triple in the bottom of the 6th inning. For South Windsor, Maddy Silverman pitched a great game, allowing only four hits and striking out nine in five innings of work. Brooke Wolejko had a single and drove in both South Windsor runs with a double.
East Hartford 16, Mamchester Red 1. Brianna Garay caught a good game and Kristen Charest and Malena Quiles played tough defense for East Hartford. The whole team did well at the plate. Nicole Molloy, Alissa Marsh and Lauren Yaffa all played solid defense for Manchester Red. Kenzie Sisson had the only hit for Red.
Glastonbury 11, Manchester United 0. Glastonbury had a strong first inning, scoring five runs. Taylor MacDowell was a force in the circle for the entire game and was one batter short of pitching a no-hitter. Lauren Crouse went 3 for 3 and Emily Bengtson had two solid hits and a walk. Lauren Bis pitched a complete game for Manchester United, holding Glastonbury back for three of the innings. Erin Kilpatrick broke up the no-hitter.
Enfield 3, Coventry 2. The Enfield Fireballs defeated Coventry in dramatic fashion, scoring the winning run in the bottom half of the 7th inning. Kristen Serafin limited the Coventry batters to four hits and two runs over seven innings and notched her second win of the season. With the score tied at two in the 7th inning, Jackie Ellis got things started with a one-out double to right centerfield and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Sara Aube came to bat for Enfield and lofted a medium fly ball to left field, scoring Ellis from third base. Coventry was led by the hitting of Kara Sander (two hits) and Kelly Foley. Enfield's gloves, led by Olivia "Leather" Baillargeon, were also in attendance.
Suffield 8, Canton 6. Kacey Gifford started for Suffield and pitched four strong innings and Anna Boucher came on in relief to close out the victory. Lauren Gifford had two hits and Nicole Wagner was on base three times with a hit and two walks, pacing the Suffield offense. Morgan Scafuri pitched well for Canton, striking out nine. She also led the offense with two hits while Gabby Rose had a strong game behind the plate and contributed a hit for Canton.
Somers 14, Hebron 4.
Thursday, July 1st
Simsbury 14, South Windsor 6. Simsbury defeated South Windsor 14-6. Maddy Pranaitis and Emma Gailey combined for the win. The Simsbury offense had 14 hits, with Alex McDermott, Laura Yablecki, Allie Davis, Lindsey LoStimolo, Shelby Seaman and Emma Gailey all having multiple hit games. South Windsor's Maddy Silverman, Brooke Wolejko and Rachel Chernik each had two hits apiece.
West Hartford 17, Manchester United 5. Lianna Pevar picked up her fourth win and also had two hits, including a homerun over the centerfield fence, to lead West Hartford past Manchester United. Sarah Allen and Charlotte Moller also had two hits each. Colleen Goroshko added a hit and two RBI. Manchester got two hits from Erin Kilpatrick and one each from Lauren Bis and Kathleen McCoy.
Suffield 9, Somers 0. Lexi Pallotti tossed a complete game shutout for Suffield, striking out 17 Somers batters. Pallotti also led the Suffield offense with three hits, including a homerun. Anna Boucher had two hits, including a triple, and Marissa Webb and Lauren Gifford also contributed two hits apiece for the winners. Somers was led by Kaitlin Gagne, who had a hit, and Dominique Herbert, who played well behind the plate.
Canton 14, Glastonbury 4. Morgan Scafuri dealt six innings of no-hit ball and was supported by offensive contributions from Lindsay Sugar, Gabby Rose and Emily Neddermann, who smacked a key double in the game. Defensively, Gabby Rose was strong behind the plate and Alex Martin was exceptional at second base, making several great plays. Glastonbury had strong defensive contributions from third baseman Robin Harris, catcher Taylor MacDowell and centerfielder Hanna Talley, who made several nice plays in the game. Jenna Garrison went the distance for Glastonbury in the circle.
Coventry 15, Manchester Red 0. Coventry beat Manchester Red 15-0 behind a strong pitching performance by Stephanie Morin. Everyone contributed offensively, especially Mariah Francis and Jessica Voros. Standouts for Manchester Red were Cam Dias, Kenzie Sisson and Lauren Yaffa.
East Hartford 3, Windsor 3. (tie; game called by darkness)
Tuesday, July 6th
Simsbury 24, Manchester United 1. Maddy Pranaitis pitched a one-hitter and the Simsbury offense poured out 24 hits in a 24-1 win over Manchester United.
East Hartford 3, West Hartford 0. In a great overall game by both teams despite the heat, East Hartford blanked West Hartford 3-0. Shortstop Shyla Boutilier and catcher Suzanne Vachon both had great games defensively for the winners. Kevi Oatway, Malena Quiles, Brianna Garay and Shyla Boutilier all had hits for East Hartford. Charlotte Moller pitched very well for West Hartford, while batterymate Sarah Allen had a good night behind the plate. Allen and Becky Hoisl had hits for West Hartford.

Thursday, July 8th
West Hartford 13, Hebron 0. Lianna Pevar and Lizzy Lagoy combined to pitch a no-hitter for the West Hartford Fury. Sarah Allen belted a 3-run homer and Becky Hoisl tripled and singled. Caitlin O'Meara added a hit and scored twice. Emily Pintavalle played well for Hebron. Ali Mosdale had a solid game behind the plate.
Simsbury 11, Glastonbury 0. Simsbury defeated Glastonbury 11-0. Taryn Braz was solid in the circle, only giving up one hit, and the offense was led by Jamie Kalogeros (2 RBIs), Shelby Seaman and Lindsey LoStimolo (3 RBIs) with three hits apiece. Alex McDermott, Allie Davis and Jess Palmberg added two hits each. Simsbury had 16 hits for the game and played solid overall defense. Glastonbury third baseman Emily Bengtson had an excellant defensive game.
Enfield 8, Suffield 7. In a tight game, the Enfield Fireballs scratched back to defeat Suffield by a score of 8 to 7. Enfield took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning on consecutive hits by Taylor Maier, Michelle Rivera and Liz Rogers. Suffield responded in a big way by plating six runs in the home half of the 1st inning. Enfield was able to score two to pull within a run in the 3rd inning as Kristen Serafin, Maier and Rogers struck again. The Fireballs went on to tie the game in the 6th and then took the lead for good with two more runs in the top of the 7th inning. Enfield's relief pitcher, Lisa Lusardi, came up big, yielding only one unearned run over 6 2/3 strong innings. Suffield battled the entire game and had the tieing run on base in the final inning. Lauren Gifford and Clarissa Burke led Suffield with two hits apiece.
Coventry 15, Somers 0. Coventry defeated Somers 15-0 as Stephanie Morin pitched a perfect game through four innings and Kaila Parsons closed with a perfect 5th inning. Eileen Zadrozny had four hits and Kara Sanders continued with her hot bat, adding three hits. Pitching well for Somers was rising star Kim Meunier. Kylen O'Hearn and Dominique Herbert played well on defense.
East Hartford 22, Manchester United 2. Suzanne Vachon pitched a no-hitter and had two hits for the win over Manchester United. The East Hartford offense combined for 18 hits. Manchester United played good defense and were aggressive at the plate.
South Windsor 13, Windsor 10.

Friday, July 9th
Coventry 3, Enfield 2. (from 7/6) Coventry edged Enfield 3-2 as Eileen Zadrozny recorded ten strikeouts and had six putouts. With many of the U-14 players unavailable, six U-12 players were called up to assist in the victory. Hannah Vignone and Blythe Fleming played well for Coventry. Emily Quail scored both Enfield runs as the Fireballs fought hard to the end in another tight game.

Windsor 21, Hebron 1. (from 7/6)
Tuesday, July 13th
Suffield 2, West Hartford 1. Suffield defeated West Hartford 2-1 in a rain-shortened game. Both pitchers, Lexi Pallotti for Suffield and Charlotte Moller for West Hartford, pitched well in less than ideal weather conditions. Pallotti struck out seven in five innings of work and also had a hit and scored a run. Erin McGann had a hit that knocked in the two Suffield runs. Moller contributed a hit for West Hartford and shortstop Becky Hoisl played well on defense.
Coventry 12, Glastonbury 2. With the score 1-0 after four innings, small ball sparked Coventry to put away Glastonbury 12-2. Lindsay Williams bunted and slapped her way on base three times. Jess Voros tripled and singled, supporting an awesome pitching performance by Stephanie Morin in very soggy conditions. Glastonbury was led by a great outing from Jenna Garrison in the circle. Robin Harris had a pair of hits and Emily Bengtson played well defensively.
Manchester Red 10, Hebron 5.

Thursday, July 15th
Suffield 4, Windsor 1. Kacey Gifford pitched a complete game two-hitter for Suffield, striking out eight Windsor batters to get the win. Lauren Gifford had a good game defensively behind the plate for Suffield and Katie Mahoney played well at third base and had two hits and scored a run. Maggie Ellithorpe also had two hits and scored a run for Suffield. Sierra Shemanskis had a hit that drove in the Windsor run and Alisha Collazo played a solid game at the catcher position.
Simsbury 3, West Hartford 2. Simsbury defeated West Hartford 3-2 in a defensive battle. Simsbury trailed 2-1 in the top of the 6th inning with one out. Jamie Kalogeros singled, Taryn Braz tripled to tie the score, and Allie Davis doubled , knocking in the go-ahead and final run. Kalogeros led the offense with two hits and two runs scored. Taryn Braz and Emma Gailey combined for the win in the circle. Haley Tietje was the defensive standout for Simsbury, making several sweet picks at first base and a crucial unassisted double play in the bottom of the sixth. Charlotte Moller pitched well for West Hartford. Becky Hoisl, Sarah Allen and the entire West Hartford team played solid defense.
Hebron 5, Manchester United 4. In an exciting game decided in the 7th inning, HAMR (Hebron Andover Marlborough Regional) pulled out its first victory of the season over Manchester United 5-4. Marissa Caron pitched a complete game for HAMR, allowing only six hits and striking out eight, including the last two batters with runners on in the bottom of the 7th inning to seal the victory. Marissa also paced the offense with two hits. Her batterymate, Ali Mosdale, was just as impressive behind the plate for the whole game, throwing out two runners on steal attempts. Lindsay Cochefski had a two-run single and Emily Pintavalle drove in the winning run in the top of the 7th inning. Lauren Bis pitched a very impressive complete game for United, striking out eight and allowing just seven hits. Erin Kilpatrick led Manchester with two hits and Morgan Daley an Emily McKay also contributed hits.
East Hartford 2, South Windsor 0. East Hartford played flawless defense behind Olivia Gonzalez's 2-hit 2-0 shutout of South Windsor. Shyla Boutilier doubled, Kristen Charest had a triple, and Erica McKinley went 2 for 2 to lead the East Hartford offense. South's Maddy Silverman pitched a good game, holding East Hartford to just five hits. Brooke Wolejko and Becca Schroder had the South Windsor hits.
Enfield 11, Canton 5. On a beautiful night for softball, the Enfield Fireballs scratched across a run in each of the first three innings to take a three run lead. Canton answered with a 5-run 4th inning, led by the hitting of Gabby Rose, Erin Detorie and a smash by Liz McMorrow. Enfield responded with two runs to tie the score at five runs apiece in the bottom half of the fourth on a big two strike single by Kristen Serafin. Enfield put the game away with a 6-run fifth inning which included a 3-run fence clearing homerun by Michelle Rivera. Lisa Lusardi picked up her second win of the season with three scoreless innings of relief. Enfield had a balanced hitting attack as Emily Quail, Olivia Baillargeon, Liz Rogers, Serafin and Lusardi picked up two hits apiece.
Coventry 16, Somers 0. Eileen Zadrozny again had outstanding command in the circle as she had ten strikeouts against Coventry's 16-0 win over Somers. She helped her cause by also scoring three runs. Kara Sander also hit well for Coventry. Somers got nice defensive play from Hailee Stetson and Kim Cisco. Maddie Wohlers recorded a pair of hits for Somers.
Manchester Red 5, Glastonbury 2.
Tuesday, July 20th
West Hartford 7, Canton 2. The West Hartford Fury defeated a tough Canton team 7-2 behind the pitching of Lianna Pevar and Lizzy Lagoy. Sarah Allen led the offense with two hits. Also adding hits were Colleen Corrigan, Elle Fontanazza, Charlotte Moller, Michelle Joseph and Kaitlyn Fredette. Morgan Scafuri pitched well for Canton and Liz McMorrow had two hits.
South Windsor 22, Manchester United 0. South Windsor pitcher Maddy Silverman allowed just three baserunners in four innings, while Taylor Mulcahy and Amanda Morhardt each homered. Further offensive contributions for South Windsor were Vanessa Freeman and Rebecca Schroder, each with four hits. Lauren Bis played well defensively for Manchester.
Simsbury 7, Suffield 2. Simsbury defeated Suffield 7-2, led offensively by Alex McDermott and Haley Tietje with two hits apiece. Simsbury's overall defense was solid. Taryn Braz pitched a complete game, with 5 Ks, allowing only three hits. Alexa Pallotti pitched well for Suffield and Anna Boucher played well at shortstop.
East Hartford 16, Somers 1. The East Hartford Xplosion allowed one hit to get the win against Somers. Xplosion combined for 18 hits, with Kevi Oatway, Malena Quiles, Brianna Garay and Olivia Gonzalez each collecting three. Samantha Chaleun-Aloun, Erica McKinley and Kristen Charest had two hits apiece. Kathryn Lavallee had the only Somers hit and Tori Totten scored their run, driven in by Kylen O'Hearn.
Coventry 7, Manchester Red 2. Coventry beat Manchester Red 7-2 behind the consistently awesome pitching of Stephanie Morin. Coventry played great defensively, with Lindsay Williams playing a solid second base and Samantha LeBlond effectively playing left field. Two hits by Jessica Voros helped with the win. Manchester Red was much improved with the addition of Kristen DeCiantis in the circle. Lauren Yaffa shone at the plate with two hits and solid glove work at shortstop. Nikki Pirtel also had a good game for Manchester.

Thursday, July 22nd
Simsbury 5, Canton 1. Simsbury defeated Canton 5-1. Alex McDermott led the offense for Simsbury, going 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Kelly Knisel played great defense at shortstop and Maddy Pranaitis picked up the win in the circle, allowing 5 hits and striking out six. Canton's Morgan Scafuri pitched a great game and Amber Batan played nice defense in centerfield, making several difficult catches. Liz McMorrow smoked a double off the left field wall.
Manchester Red 11, Manchester United 2. Manchester Red downed United 11-2 behind Lauren Yaffa, Melissa Hill and Lisa Molloy. Jordann Bilodeau, Morgan Daley and Ariel Hlavaty played well for Manchester United.
Suffield 8, Somers 3. Anna Boucher pitched a complete game, 4-hitter, striking out ten Somers batters in Suffield's 8-3 win. Boucher also had two hits and scored two runs to lead the Suffield attack. Lauren Gifford had an excellant game behind the plate for Suffield and had two hits for the offense. Clarissa Burke contributed a hit, a walk and a sacrifice bunt for Suffield. Pitcher Kylen O'Hearn struck out six Suffield batters and led the Somers offense with two hits. Hailee Stetson at third and Madison Wohler at first played well defensively for Somers.
Coventry 14, Hebron 0. Coventry beat Hebron 14-0 behind a great pitching performance from Kaila Parsons, who helped herself at the plate by going 3 for 3. Kara Sander once again had a hot bat as she went 3 for 3 as well. Hannah Vignone hit well and made several outstanding plays in the field. Hebron got good glove work from Ali Mosdale and Holly Hayden. Jess Henley had the only hit for Hebron and Courtney Manarky didn't let anything by behind the plate.
Windsor 6, West Hartford 4.

Tuesday, July 27th
Simsbury 9, Windsor 0. Simsbury defeated Windsor 9-0 behind Taryn Braz' one-hitter. Laura Yablecki and Allie Davis led the Simsbury offense with two hits apiece. Simsbury played a very solid defensive game.
Suffield 6, Canton 1. Lexi Pallotti pitched a complete game two-hitter, striking out 11 Canton batters, to lead Suffield to victory. Marissa Webb played good defense at first and had a triple and a walk, while Angelica Banning had a double and a walk to pace the Suffield offense. Canton pitcher Morgan Scafuri struck out nine Suffield batters, and Lindsay Sugar had a hit and played well defensively for Canton.
Somers 2, Enfield 1 (Game 1). Enfield and Somers locked into a good old fashioned pitcher's duel in game one of a doubleheader. Somers was able to push across the winning run on a hustling play in the top half of the last inning and held on for a 2-1 victory. Somers was led by Julianne Folger, Marisa Forti and Hailee Stetson. Kristen Serafin suffered the tough luck loss for Enfield, allowing only four hits while racking up eight strikeouts in five innings of work. Enfield scored their only run on the speed of Serena Manzi and a timely hit by Emily Quail.
Enfield 12, Somers 2 (Game 2). Enfield's bats arrived for the second half of the doubleheader and defeated Somers by a score of 12-2. Enfield was led by the resurgent bats of Serena Manzi (3 hits), Liz Rogers (2 hits), Katie Saltzgiver (2 hits) and Michelle Rivera (2 hits). Somers was led by Kim Cisco, Kathryn Lavallee and Kylen O'Hearn. Rogers picked up the win in the circle as she limited Somers to two hits in five innings of work.
South Windsor 5, Manchester Red 1. Lina Nguyen pitched a complete game victory with 14 strikeouts. Kelly Sicord scored two runs and Jenn Belanger had three hits and 3 RBIs to pace the South Windsor offense. For Manchester, Nikki Pirtel had two hits and Lauren Yaffa had a double to drive in Red's only run.
Coventry 12, Hebron 0.
Glastonbury 7, Manchester United 0 (forfeit).
Thursday, July 29th
Simsbury 5, East Hartford 2. Simsbury defeated East Hartford 5-2 in a battle of division winners. Emma Gailey pitched a complete game, striking out eleven batters for the victory. Laura Yablecki and Haley Tietje led the offense with two hits apiece. Olivia Gonzalez also went the distance for East Hartford, recording one strikeout. Erica McKinley had two hits for East Hartford.
