Monday, June 14th
Windsor 10, Canton 3. Windsor won their opener at Canton as starting pitcher Molly Parker went 4 innings, striking out six, and drove in five runs for her team. Katie Tanguay came through with 3 RBIs for Windsor. Canton's pitcher Christina Cardwell struck out six and hit a triple. Brittany King had two hits and an RBI.
West Hartford 12, South Windsor 0. Jessica Dufault tossed a three-hit shutout to lead West Hartford. Caelese Brown had three hits, including a grand slam, to break the game open in the third, and scored three runs. Dani Stevens and Melissa Martucci each had three hits and scored three runs for West Hartford, while Jackie Carter and Jenn Lohneiss had a hit and 2 RBI apiece. Catcher Stevens and centerfielder Brown both made terrific plays defensively to preserve the shutout. Kileigh Nassau had a hit for South Windsor, as did Danielle Benito and Arielle Thomas, who drove the ball hard in each of her three at bats.
Enfield 6, Vernon 0. The Enfield Fireballs defeated Vernon 6-0 in their season opener. Cari Conley pitched well for Enfield, allowing only two hits, striking out ten and issuing no walks. Katie Krogmann did well at the plate, reaching base in all three of her at bats, and Sara Moynihan played well defensively. For Vernon, Megan Gardiner and Anna McCain led the offense with base hits, and Stephanie Kurowski also played well. Vernon pitching struck out 13 Fireballs.

Wednesday, June 16th
Ashford 3, Vernon 2 (8 innings). A well executed bunt by Ariel Cordero of Ashford resulted in the tieing run in the 7th inning. A strong base hit by Sara Rup drove in the deciding run in the 8th inning, scored by Samantha Bramberger. Notable performers for Vernon were pitchers Michelle Correia and Shannon Turgeon. Sara Vincze had a good game at the plate
West Hartford 1, Enfield 0 (8 innings). West Hartford's Courtney Daley and Enfield's Cari Conley went head to head in a classic pitcher's duel that remained scoreless after seven innings. Sarah Allen drove in the game's only run in the top of the 8th inning, and Daley escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the bottom of the inning to pull out the victory. Cassidy Grinsell was the standout on offense for West Hartford with two hits, while Jackie Carter, Ali Stevens and Jessica Dufault made great defensive plays. Conley and Rebecca Scanlon had key hits for Enfield, and Sara Moynihan played a great game defensively. But the pitchers were the story of the night, as Conley struck out ten and allowed only three hits, while Daley surrendered just four hits and struck out eight,
Glastonbury 13, Somers 3.

Monday, June 21st
Granby 10, South Windsor 2. Granby won its opening game of the season by a 10-2 score over South Windsor. Erin Walsh pitched a complete game 2-hitter while striking out 13. Gabbi Stahl led the attack for Granby with three hits and scoring three runs. Lauren Holt hit one over the fence to drive in two runs. Kileagh Nassau pitched well for South Windsor and Danielle Benito and Kate Strong each had hits and drove in the South Windsor runs.
West Hartford 16, Canton 2. Mallory Martucci homered, double and drove in three runs, and Dani Stevens had three hits and five RBI to lead West Hartford. Melissa Martucci had a double and a triple and scored three runs, while Noelle Ouellette had two hits and drove in a pair. Jessica Dufault earned her second win of the season, and Caroline Karanian & Hannah Moller each made great catches in the field. Olivia Bonini and Liz Mutch had nice hits for Canton, and Brittany King played stellar defense all game long at both third base and first base.
Enfield 1, Ashford 0. The Enfield Fireballs outlasted Ashford in a pitcher's duel that went scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning. Fireball pitcher Cari Conley threw a no-hitter, holding the Ashford batters scoreless through seven complete innings, striking out 17 and walking only one. Sam Wilder led the Enfield hitters with two singles. Fireballs' Katie Levasseur came to the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with one out and smashed the ball over the left-center fence for the walk-off homerun to end the game. Ashford starting pitcher Samantha Malecki did a great job holding the Fireballs scoreless for the six innings she pitched, striking out five and walking only three. Ashford catcher Alyssa Varrier played very well behind the plate.
Windsor 1, Somers 0.
Wednesday, June 23rd
West Hartford 16, Glastonbury 0. Dani Stevens, Caroline Karanian, Jessica Dufault and Noelle Ouellette all had extra-base hits to lead the West Hartford offense. Dufault and Ouellette both pitched well and struck out four batters apiece enroute to the shutout. Delaney Kehoe and Mary Howard had hits for Glastonbury.
Ashford 7, Canton 2. Ashford's defense was led by the strong pitching of Taylor Holmes and Colleen Ecsedy, who combined for 12 strikeouts. Holmes was also great at bat with a single, double and triple. Ashford's Josie LoRicco also had a good game at the plate with two singles and an RBI. Canton's Olivia Bonini had a homerun and Brittany King had a good game with two singles.
Vernon 6, Granby 1. Leading the way offensively was Taylor Kurowski, with two hits and three runs batted in, Anna McCain with two hits and two RBI, and Allison Newhall with a double and an RBI. Courtney Oliva pitched well with a complete game. For Granby, Sara Hammick hit a double and Sam Arnone pitched well, allowing just one run. Britney Schultz was also a standout for Granby.
Windsor 5, South Windsor 4. Widsor was scoreless in five innings, coming back to win 5-4 over South Windsor. Molly Parker had three hits, including a triple, Kristen Young had two hits and Katie Tanguay drove in the winning run. South Windsor's Danielle Benito belted a triple and drove in two runs. Aubrey Wood had three hits and an RBI and Taylor Skinner had a pair of hits.
Enfield 7, Somers 1. The Enfield Fireballs defeated Somers 7-1. Fireballs pitcher Cari Conley had another strong performance, striking out seven and allowing only one run over seven complete innings. the Fireball offense was led by Melissa Urbon, who slammed a homer over the centerfield fence, and Rebecca Scanlon, who had two base hits and scored two runs. For Somers, Allie Dubanoski led the offense with two doubles and Ainsley Wilson had a base hit and made some outstanding defensive plays in the outfield.
Friday, June 25th
Vernon 4, Glastonbury 2. Pitching well for Vernon was starter Michelle Correia, with six strong innings, and Shannon Turgeon, closing out the game. Anna McCain had a double, Kayle Terry an RBI-single, and Courtney Oliva & Megan Gardiner each with a hit. Lindsey Musco pitched well for Glastonbury, throwing a complete game. Ana Avaiga led the offense with a hit and Mary Howard had a strong game behind the plate.
Canton 13, South Windsor 2. (from 6/16) Canton defeated South Windsor 13-2 as Olivia Bonini went 5 for 5 at the plate with a homerun, a double, three singles, three RBIs and three runs scored. Liz Mutch went 4 for 5 with three RBIs and a run scored. Kylie Delos tripled. South Windsor's Lina Nguyen scored on a monster hit by Danielle Benito, who also played solid defense at third base. Rebecca Schroder also scored a run for South.
Monday, June 28th
Enfield 9, South Windsor 2. The Enfield Fireballs defeated South Windsor 9-2. Enfield took an early lead with a run in the top of the first inning and then added two more in the second and one in the fourth. South Windsor answered with one in the bottom of the fourth to keep it a 3-run game. Both teams scored a run in the sixth inning, but Enfield pulled away with four insurance runs in the top of the seventh to secure the victory. Cari Conley pitched another outstanding complete game for Enfield, striking out seven and walking only two. Katie Krogmann led the offense with four base hits and reaching base safely in all five of her plate appearances. Cori Delorge also had a good night at the plate with three hits. For South Windsor, Haley Moquin played well defensively, Brooke Stoker stepped in to do a good job in relief pitching and Katie Strong played well behind the plate.
West Hartford 7, Windsor 0. Dani Stevens and Mallory Martucci each homered twice as West Hartford won their fifth in a row to start the season. Caroline Karanian had two hits and scored two runs for West Hartford. Courtney Daley earned the win and did not allow a hit until a single by Windsor's Mikayla Hudson with one out in the bottom of the 7th inning. West Hartford's Ali Stevens made the play of the game, reaching her glove over the centerfield fence to rob Windsor's Sierra Shemanskis of a homerun in the sixth to preserve the shutout. Windsor pitcher Mary Deneen was exceptional in relief, striking out 11 batters in just four innings of work.
Somers 9, Vernon 3. Somers defeated Vernon 9-3, but not without a last minute rally by Vernon in the 7th inning that started with Anna McCain's triple followed by Taylor Kurowski's homer that brought in two runs. Stephanie Kurowski also played a great game for Vernon. Somners' lead defensive player was Danielle Chokus, with two key spectacular catches in centerfield. Aubrey Brink went 4 for 4 and scored twice for Somers and Teresa Garlick had a great defensive game at second base.
Glastonbury 7, Canton 6.

Wednesday, June 30th
Granby 7, West Hartford 3. Granby scored seven runs in the 7th inning to defeat West Hartford in a well played game. Erin Walsh pitched a two-hitter for Granby, striking out ten. Meghan Blesig started the Granby rally with a single and also made a nice defensive play in the outfield. Kaitlyn Walker contributed with a big 2-run double. West Hartford's Dani Stevens played well at catcher, throwing out three baserunners. Melissa Martucci and Hannah Moller each had hits for West Hartford
South Windsor 9, Somers 5. South Windsor defeated Somers 9-5. Aubrie Mazur's 2-run homerun and solid pitching led South to the victory. Alyson Stearns had three hits and Aubrey Wood had two hits to power the offense. Somers was led by Allie Dubanowski with three hits, Marisa Forti with two hits and Hailee Stetson also with two hits.
Glastonbury 3, Ashford 1. Delaney Kehoe and Lindsey Musco had key RBIs to lead Glastonbury over visiting Ashford. Taylor Holmes pitched well for Ashford, recording eleven strikeouts.
Enfield 11, Canton 3. The Enfield Fireballs defeated Canton by a score of 11-3. Enfield started with a run in the first and Canton answered with a pair in the second to take the lead. The Fireballs retook the lead with three in the third. In the bottom of the fifth, down by one run, Canton threatened with two on and no outs. After a strikeout, the Fireballs ended the inning with a 5-9-2-5-7-2 double play that began with a foreceout at third base and ended with a tag out at the plate and included two throwing errors along the way. Canton mounted another threat in the 6th inning that ended when Enfield turned a 1-6-3 double play. Standouts for the Fireballs were pitcher Cari Conley, who threw another complete game, striking out eight, walking six and surrendering only four hits; Melissa Urbon, who scored three runs; Katie Krogmann, whi hit two doubles deep into the outfield; and Kate Levasseur, who had two hits, including a 2-run double. Standouts for Canton were Christina Cardwell, who pitched a good game, and third baseman Alex Powell, who made some very outstanding plays and had a total of eight put-outs or assists.
Vernon 5, Windsor 3.
Monday, July 5th
Vernon 13, South Windsor 0. Stephanie Kurowski pitched well, striking out seven, to led Vernon past South Windsor 13-0. Anna McCain, Allie Newhall and Dylan Piacenta paced the offense. Aubrey Wood and Jen Belanger had good games for South Windsor.
West Hartford 8, Somers 4 (8 innings). West Hartford staged a six run rally in the top of the 8th inning, led by extra-base hits from Mallory Martucci, Ali Stevens and Hannah Moller, to defeat Somers in a game that was hard fought on both sides. Jessica Dufault pitched a gritty complete game on an oppressively hot evening to earn the win, striking out seven. Martucci had three hits, while Moller, Dani Stevens and Caroline Karanian each added two hits on the night for West Hartford. Somers was led by a fantastic overall performance by Sami Urbon, who pitched well before moving to shortstop and making several incredible plays, highlighted by a leaping catch of a ball headed for left field. Teresa Garlick played well at second base and Allie Dubanoski made several stretches at first base that made the difference on close plays. Kylen O'Hearn led the Somers offense with two hits and two runs scored.
Enfield 5, Glastonbury 4. The Enfield Fireballs edged out Glastonbury in an exciting and close game that went down to the wire in the 7th inning. The Fireball got out to an early lead with two runs in the first. Both teams scored a run in the third, and Glastonbury added another in the 4th to keep it a one run game. Enfield tried to pull away in the 5th inning, when two runs crossed the plate, but their scoring ended there. Glastonbury kept the fans on the edge of their seats as they scored two runs in the top of the 7th. With two outs and a runner on second base, a groundout to second ended the threat. Cari Conley pitched another outstanding complete game for Enfield, striking out seven, walking four and giving up only four hits. Fireball Rebecca Scanlon had three base hits and scored three runs on close sliding plays at the plate in clouds of dirt, and Melissa Urbon had two hits and scored two runs. Standouts for Glastonbury were Delaney Kehoe, who had two doubles and scored a run, and Dana Meixell and Lindsey Musco, who both did a great job sharing the pitching.
Canton 10, Granby 3. Canton downed Granby 10-3 as Kiersten Kronschnabel drove in four runs with a bases-loaded double and an RBI-single. She also made two nice catches in centerfield. Emily Neddermann went 3 for 4, had two RBIs and scored two runs. Christina Cardwell pitched a complete game, striking out five. She helped her own cause with an RBI and scoring three runs. Amber Batan played well defensively behind the plate on a very hot night. Granby's Sam Arnone pitched well, recording five strikeouts. Taylor Purves, Maggie Sullivan and Sam Gilbert drove in the Granby runs.
Windsor 3, Ashford 1.
Wednesday, July 7th
Somers 3, Canton 2. Samantha Urbon pitched a great game, recording seven strikeouts, as Somers edged Canton 3-2. Kayla Stetson laid down a fantastic bunt that was a key play in the game. Ainsley Wilson, Emily Vanasse and Kayla Stetson led the Somers defenders. Christina Cardwell pitched very well for Canton and scored both of their runs. Liz Mutch and Amber Batan played well defensively.
West Hartford 8, Vernon 3. West Hartford rallied for eight runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to overcome a gutsy, short-handed Vernon team. With just eight players, Vernon built and held a 3-0 lead going into the last of the sixth, led by two hits each from Sarah Vincze and Hilary Moody. But in the last of the sixth, Cassidy Grinsell started the West Hartford comeback with a leadoff single, followed later by a two-run triple from Jessica Dufault and key hits from Ali Stevens, Jenn Lohneiss and Caroline Karanian. Noelle Ouellette pitched a steady complete game, keeping her team in the game throughout to earn the win.
Glastonbury 7, Windsor 7 (tie).
South Windsor at Ashford - rescheduled to Wednesday, August 4th at South Windsor.
Enfield at Granby - rescheduled to Friday, July 23rd.
Friday, July 9th
Glastonbury 10, Vernon 0. Dana Meixell threw a shutout as Glastonbury downed Vernon 10-0. Kelly Oscarson had a key bunt hit that kept a rally going. Michelle Correia pitched well for Vernon and reached base three times. Dylan Piacenta had a nice hit and a walk, in a game that was much more competitive than the score indicated.
Sunday, July 11th
Ashford 2, Glastonbury 1 (8 innings). (from 7/19) Colleen Ecsedy pitched a strong game, striking out ten in 8 innings. She also had the game winning RBI with a great bunt in the bottom of the 8th inning, scoring Samantha Ridzon, who had tripled. Glastonbury's Lindsey Musco also pitched a complete game, recording nine strikeouts. Kayla Oscarson drove in the Glastonbury run.
Monday, July 12th
West Hartford 5, Ashford 2. Pitchers Courtney Daley and Jessica Dufault led West Hartford past Ashford in a game that was tight throughout. Becky Hoisl had three hits and Sarah Allen had a double and scored a run to spark the West Hartford offense. Melissa Martucci was the defensive standout for West Hartford, making several tough plays at third base. Josie LoRicco and Morgan Ridzon each tripled for Ashford, while Sarah Rup added a ground-ruled double and scored a run. Taylor Holmes pitched a great game for Ashford.
Enfield 5, Windsor 2. The Enfield Fireballs defeated Windsor 5 to 2 in a back and forth game that stayed close until the late innings. Windsor took the lead in the 2nd inning on an RBI-double to deep centerfield by Mikayla Hudson. Enfield answered with one in the bottom of the inning on an RBI-single by Jamie Wonderlie to drive home Kate Levasseur. Windsor retook the lead 2-1 in the 4th on an RBI-single by Molly Parker to deep left. Enfield came back in the 5th inning with a clutch two run single by Cari Conley to drive home the tieing and deciding runs. Enfield added two insurance runs in the 6th when Nicole "Shorty" Meunier singled home Kate Levasseur, and REbecca Scanlon beat out a bunt single to score Jamie Wonderlie. Cari Conley pitched another outstanding complete game for the Fireballs, striking out 12, walking four and allowing only three hits.
Glastonbury 5, South Windsor 2. Dana Meixell and Lindsey Musco combined to hold the strong South Windsor bats to just two runs. Katie Connolly scored two runs. Delaney Kehoe smacked a double and blocked everything behind the plate. South Windsor was led by Kelly Sivo, who had a nice hit and scored a run. Katie Strong blasted a double and drove in a run. Maddie Silverman pitched well all night long.
Somers 10, Granby 3. Somers' leadoff batter Allie Dubanoski swung at the first pitch and connected for an inside-the-park homerun in the first inning. Samantha Urbon played great defense at shortstop, making a diving catch in the first inning to hold a runner at first base. Danielle Chokas had a great offensive game, going 4 for 4. Granby's Meghan Blesig went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Lauren Holt blasted a triple in the 6th inning, which led to a run, and Maggie Sullivan put down a beautiful sacrifice bunt to advance the runner in the seventh inning.
Canton 4, Vernon 3. Canton edged Vernon 4-3 in a close exciting game. Christina Cardwell went the distance for Canton, striking out five, and also helped herself at the plate, going 2 for 4 and scoring a run. Kiersten Kronschnabel had a 2-run single in the 4th inning and Emily Neddermann drove in Amber Batan with the deciding run in the 6th inning. Haley Gregware made the defensive play of the game in the bottom of the 7th inning. With Vernon runners at 2nd and 3rd base, she threw from right field to home plate, where catcher Olivia Bonini made the tag on the runner to end the game. Vernon's Megan Gardiner had a 2-run double in the 4th inning and Alison Newhall played well defensively.
Wednesday, July 14th
Vernon 4, Somers 2. Until the 7th inning, it was a 1-1 pitchers' duel until Anna McCain singled to start a 3-run Vernon rally. Stephanie Kurowski recorded twelve strikeouts for Vernon and Sam Urbon fanned nine for Somers. Shannon Turgeon closed out the game for Vernon and got the save. Somers' Allie Dubanoski played a great defensive game at first base and had two hits. Hailee Stetson had a strong game behind the plate for Somers.
South Windsor 6, West Hartford 3. South Windsor tamed the West Hartford Fury 6-3 behind the pitching of Maddy Silverman, who kept the Fury hitters off balance for the entire game. Taylor Skinner had three hits, including a triple, and Kierstan Skinner doubled and singled to lead the South Windsor offense. West Hartford was led by the play of Noelle Ouellette and Ali Stevens.
Canton 7, Windsor 1.

Monday, July 19th
West Hartford 14, Windsor 0. Courtney Daley surrendered just two hits and struck out seven to lead West Hartford past Windsor. Jessica Dufault opened the scoring when she crushed a three-run homerun in the bottom of the second, and Melissa Martucci followed later in the inning with a bases-clearing triple. Dani Stevens and Ali Stevens added two hits each and Jenn Lohneiss and Caroline Karanian each reached base in all three of their at-bats and scored twice to lead the West Hartford offense. Kelsey Ballard and Mary Deneen had nice hits for Windsor.
Granby 3, Canton 1. Erin Walsh pitched a 2-hitter, with no earned runs, while striking out 19 for Granby in a 3-1 victory over Canton. Granby's Sam Gilbert, who went 2 for 2 on the night, drove in two of Granby's three runs. Christina Cardwell pitched well for Caton, giving up only four hits. Emily Neddermann made an unassisted double play in the 1st inning to stifle an early Granby threat.

Windsor 7, South Windsor 0 (forfeit).

Friday, July 23rd
Enfield 10, Granby 1. (from 7/7) The Enfield Fireballs defeated Granby 10-1 under a drizzly sky, with the wet conditions making defense a challenge for both sides. The Fireballs took an early advantage, scoring five runs in the first inning. In the bottom of the inning, Granby's Kaitlyn Tibbetts slapped a single into left field and scored from third on an attempted steal by the runner on first base. In the top of the second with runners on first and second, Fireballs' Cari Conley slammed a 3-run homer to deep centerfield. In the top of the fourth, Granby's Amanda Jacobs and Kaitlyn Walker stepped up the defense with a double play that halted a Fireball threat. Cari Conley pitched an outstanding complete 5-inning game, striking out seven and surrendering only a single hit. On defense, catcher Katie Krogmann threw out two runners attempting to steal second and Nicole Meunier made an amazing catch running in from centerfield. Rebecca Scanlon had a good night at the plate with a single, an RBI-double and scoring three runs.
Monday, July 26th
Glastonbury 15, Somers 4. Liz Caporale led the offense as visiting Glastonbury downed Somers 15-4. Delaney Kehoe and Ana Arriaga both did well sharing the duties behind the plate. U-14 call-ups Jenna Garrison and Taylor MacDowell provided much needed help. For Somers, Allie Dubanoski made several fine diving plays at first base. Samantha Urbon and Kylen O'Hearn both pitched well for the hosts.
Ashford 3, Vernon 2. Ashford came out on top in another close game against Vernon. Ashford's defense was led by the pitching of Taylor Holmes, who recorded twelve strikeouts. Ashford scored twice in the second inning with a bunt by Brianna Cordero resulting in an RBI, followed by a hit by Kylie Hill. Josie LoRicco scored again in the 3rd inning, following hits by Colleen and Brianna Cordero. Vernon pitchers Courtney Oliva and Michelle Correia also had great games, combining to strike out 14 Ashford batters. Allie Newhall tripled in both Vernon runs in the 7th inning.
Granby 5, South Windsor 4. Granby beat South Windsor 5-4 in one extra inning in a fun, back-and-forth game. Gabby Stahl staked Granby out to a one-run lead with the first of her two hits. South Windsor came right back in the bottom of the first on Alyson Stearns' RBI-double and went ahead 2-1 on Alyson's RBI-triple in the 3rd inning. Stahl then singled in the 4th, and Lauren Holt, who pinch ran for her, scored. In the 6th, Granby went ahead when Amy Bilodeau drove in Sam Arnone, but South's Danielle Benito tied the score with a home run in the bottom half of the inning. Danielle also had a triple in the game. After a scoreless 7th inning, Granby scored two in the 8th. South Windsor would not give up, as they plated a run in the bottom of the 8th, but Brittany Schultz held on for the win. Maddy Silverman pitched very well for South Windsor.
West Hartford 9, Canton 3. Mallory Martucci had a double and a triple, and Caroline Karanian and Jessica Dufault each had two hits and scored twice as West Hartford surged past Canton for their second straight win. West Hartford catcher Dani Stevens had a hit and two RBIs and was the defensive leader throughout the game, throwing out Canton runners on the basepaths and standing tall to make some tough tags on close plays at the plate. Amber Batan led Canton with two hits, and Christina Cardwell pitched a complete game, striking out six.
Wednesday, July 28th
Ashford 8, Somers 3. Ashford's bats came out strong during this game with two doubles by Sarah Rup, a triple and a single by Josie LoRicco, and RBIs by Samantha Malecki and and Ariel Cordero. Morgan Ridzon made several great plays at shortstop and Sam Malecki pitched a complete game with six strikeouts. Somers' Allie Dubanoski played a great first base, making several key plays. Danielle Chokas had a double and a triple and Teresa Garlick had two key hits.
Glastonbury 2, Enfield 0. Glastonbury cooled the Enfield Fireballs 2-0 as Lindsey Musco pitched a one-hitter and fanned 14 Enfield batters. Ana Arriaga delivered a crucial two-out RBI-single up the middle. Cari Conley gave up only two hits for Enfield and struck out seven. Cori Delorge played great "D" at shortstop and Sara Moynihan saved a run with a spectacular diving play at second base. The game was very well played by both teams.
Windsor 8, Granby 4. Granby's offense was led by Sam Arnone's double and two RBIs, Lauren Holt's two stolen bases and RBI and Rachel Costolnick's RBI. Windsor answered the call with 13 hits for the team. Kelsey Ballard pitched the game, allowing her defense to put out 19 batters, and went 2 for 4 at the plate. Danielle McCormick's two RBIs and solid defense helped keep Granby at bay. Allison Mendola's two RBIs, a double and a magnet of a glove behind the plate helped Windsor get the win.

Monday, August 2nd
Glastonbury 5, Granby 2. Lindsey Musco and Dana Meixell combined for 17 strikeouts, allowing only two unearned runs, as Glastonbury defeated Granby 5-2. Ana Arriaga had two RBIs for Glastonbury and Kelly Oscarson drove in a key run late in the game. Granby was led by Sam Arnone, who pitched a strong game. Sara Hammick reached base three times and Amanda Jacobs made several fine plays at shortstop.
Vernon 3, Enfield 2 (8 innings). (from 7/19) Courtney Oliva pitched seven innings of no-hit ball, striking out nine, in a scoreless pitcher's duel with Enfield's Cari Conley, who recorded ten strikeouts. Michelle Correia had a strong game defensively at second base and added two hits for Vernon. Taylor Kurowski hit a 2-run double in the 8th to break a scoreless tie. Ashley Barselau also added an RBI-single. Enfield did not go down quietly in the bottom of the eighth, with an RBI-double by Kate Levasseur and an RBI-single by Nicole Meunier. Vernon held on for the win, stranding the tieing run for Enfield on third base.
Tuesday, August 3rd
Granby 7, West Hartford 6. (from 7/21) Granby scored five runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to come from behind and beat West Hartford. West Hartford jumped out to an early 6-0 lead behind the hitting of Caroline Karanian (3-4), Mallory Martucci (2-4) and Melissa Martucci (2-3) before Granby began their comeback. Granby scored two in the 5th behind some good baserunning by Meaghan Schultheis and Meghan Blesig. In the 7th inning, Granby's patience at the plate and aggressive baserunning brought home five runs. Erin Walsh pitched a complete game for Granby to get the win.
Wednesday, August 4th
South Windsor 5, Ashford 4 (9 innings). (from 7/7) South Windsor defeated Ashford 5-4 in 9 innings. Brooke Wolejko hit a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 7th inning to tie the game. Amanda Morehardt had an RBI and Maddy Silverman's pitching was outstanding. Ashford's Josie LoRicco had a 2-run homer and Colleen Ecsedy also pitched an outstanding game.

Thursday, August 5th
Enfield 4, Ashford 3. (from 7/14) The Enfield Fireballs completed their regular season and took the U-16 East Division title by defeating Ashford 4-3. Enfield took an early one run lead in the top of the first. In the bottom of the inning, Ashford loaded the bases with no outs, but the Fireballs defense was able to hold them off. Enfield added two in the 5th inning to go ahead 3-0, but Ashford answered with three in the bottom of the inning to tie up the game. Enfield scored what would be the wiining run in the top of the 6th on a sacrifice groundout by Kate Levasseur. Enfield held off Ashford with some outstanding catches by Sara Moynihan and Nicole "Shorty" Meunier. Fireballs pitcher Cari Conley pitched another outstanding complete game, striking out eight along the way. Standouts for Ashford were Alyssa Varrieur, who did a great job at catcher, hit a single and scored a run, and Morgan Ridzon, who played well at shortstop and scored a run.
